I really feel sorry for anyone that had the ending spoiled for them, or was too smart and figured it.

These reactors have their own channels, and most likely would also like you to visit their channel and watch their reaction:

no copyright infringement intended. The movie is not mine, the reactions are not mine, only the hard work, time, and dedication of putting this all together is mine. I wouldn't call myself a hero, cause what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man.

One of the most amazing theater experiences was this part and hearing the collective reactions of everyone in the theater. I'll never forget it. I didn't realize it at the time but it turns out I loved seeing people's reactions to things even back in 1999 because I worked in a theater when this came out and I would try to sneak in to the screens playing this movie during the twist reveal.

I was telling a friend that I was going to see this movie at the weekend. His wife shouts from the other room, "Bruce Willis is a ghost!" She completely ruined the movie twist for me. Thankfully he divorced her a couple of years later.

this twist is so incredibly good that it is 25 years old and people STILL gatekeep it, they STILL dont want to give it away, just in case. a maze ing.
  • The reaction to this movie is still so iconic. It is THE twist.
  • @majbrat
It was the best kept secret in Hollywood, and we all really tried to keep the secret over the years as fans. Best twist in a movie ever!
  • I saw this in the theater a few days after it came out with my wife, who is very smart. Like Mensa smart. During the scene where Bruce Willis is in the basement and the dude comes around to hit on his wife, MY wife suddenly grabs my arm. I look at her and she is smiling. She leans in to me and whispers, "He's a ghost." Because I'm not that smart, she has to whisper all of the reasons why. So, during the big reveal I'm sitting there nodding along saying "Yep, you got it." Meanwhile, she's sitting there balling her eyes out. Just a really great movie all around.
  • "I see reacting people" Excellent compilation YoureMrLewbowski!

I still remember seeing this movie in the theater and being absolutely floored by the Twist. Shyamalan has a nack for a good twist.

Man, that is an EXTREMELY impressive cut you've put together. You lined up the movie itself seamlessly among all those disparate reactors, that is amazing work! WELL DONE!
  • I think this is THE best twist in any movie ever made. What's sad is that you only get that moment of realisation once.
  • @MCMNasty2
Will never, ever forget the way I felt in the theater watching this movie. I can’t imagine ever having an experience like that again. Truly spine tingling, like chills thinking about it almost 25 years later.

Problably THE BIGGEST twist in movie history!... Completely jawdropping moment..when i watched it in the theater the whole room gasped and started cheering out loudly!... this is 10/10
  • @JediPhoenix1976
Oh, the collective "GASP!" that I heard in the theater when I first saw this...the best thing is, this isn't a twist out of nowhere, either - if you go back and rewatch it, all the signs are there.
  • @elspeff
I HOWLED at the revelation: seriously, I was weeping and bawling at it.
  • @jsloden1
Little known fact, the man that shot him at the beginning of the film was Donnie Whalberg.
  • @MDK2_Radio
Good ol’ M. Night Shyamalan, before the twists became the reason for the movie.
  • @DireCrow
The two monumental moments I remember from this movie: Of course, the TWIST. But also how freaking scary that little girl ghost was, until you realized she was suffering and not a threat ("I'm getting better") and how brave Cole was to help her. I think people forgot how subtle a twist THAT moment was. Our fear of the unknown and unnatural can lead us to develop prejudices. But, if we try to understand something or someone, we can find that it's not scary at all, and we can do some good in the world.

I remember seeing this in theatres, and when that ring fell, I was shocked. I looked to my sister and she was like, "what?" I was like, "he's dead." One of the BEST twists in cinema. I never even noticed no one talked to him. It's funny M. Night S thought he made it too obvious! lol
  • @champslim
The coat comment... Holy crap I never noticed that!
  • This was a huge moment, the entire theatre gasped with surprise, I was 19 when I saw this with my late younger brother's girlfriend, we were both speechless after this reveal 😲😲 an excellent movie spawning "I can see dead people" memes
