Regis Philbin spent a record-setting 17,000 hours on television in a career that spanned 52 years and consisted of unforgettable moments on some of America’s most-watched programs. “Live! with Kelly and Ryan” devoted almost the entire hour to honoring Regis, who launched the show in 1988. Kelly Ripa held back tears remembering her friend and co-host. His career began with a lucky break on “The Joey Bishop Show” in the 1960s, and he became a household name with the launch of “Live!” in 1988. #InsideEdition

  • My husband lost his leg in a car accident (not his fault) at the age of 24, one of the few things, he said, he could look forward to in the early days of recovery, was watching Regis and Kathie Lee, which cheered him. Kathie, if you happen to read this, I thank you on his behalf. God bless.

Kelly didn’t speak about her relationship with Regis because they didn’t have one. Kelly stopped speaking to him after he left the show.

  • My Grandmother cried when I told her that Regis Died. He helped her learn more about this country in the Late 80’s and 90’s. R.I.P Regis

R.I.P Regis Philbin. He was such a great game show host. I loved watching him on TV. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends
  • @she5081
Funny how she seemed so upset, but in an interview with Larry King Regis said she hadn’t spoke to him in years and he was never invited back to the show. She’s probably crying out of guilt

He is a Legend. What does him selling his house for a loss have to do with his passing?
  • Oh stop it Kelly, you never invited him on the show once or talked to him again! That's per Regis!!

Regis and Kathie Lee had special tv chemistry. I loved tuning in every am with laughters. Unfortunately after Kathie Lee left I was not impressed with Kelly Ripa but kept watching because of Regis. I have not watched for years since Regis left the show. RIP Regis.
  • Wow I still can't believe this my grandma and dad brought me up on his show and it was so fun to watch he was such an amazing spirit . ♥️♥️ I hope he rests in paradise . Always and forever a legend
  • @sharonsolana
Kathie Lee appeared to have a genuine love and respect for Regis. Kelly Ripa seemed calculating and disrespectful.
