In reality, Michael Jackson is an illusion and the audience doesn't exist. Hikaru is actually trapped in the realm of darkness, by of course Xehanort. Xehanort knows he will be defeated in KH3 (He read the script) so he wanted make one last contingency plan before his defeat, by kidnapping Hikaru and putting her in the realm of darkness, his goal is to corrupt her mind and heart so she can be his next vessel. From there her memories will be erased and replaced Xehanort's memories. Where she will make a new Organization XIII and restart the keyblade war once more in Kingdom Hearts 4 thus making Sora endure and relive the conflict he stopped before again and again until Sora's heart becomes corrupted and he'll be another vessel for Xehanort to use. And about that box at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3, Xehanort is not gonna concern himself over it since what's inside the box will not affect his plan; unless it does he'll use Hikaru's body to steal the box from Maleficent and Pete if possible.
