I’m obsessed with learning more about the engineers.

It's funny how I'm more interested in the lore of these films than the films themselves. Bags of potential wasted in both.

Ridley actually said in an interview that humans were on their last chance 2000yrs ago to change their ways. The engineers sent them a teacher who they then crucified. That's why a wipe-out ship was getting ready to launch for earth 2000yrs ago according to the nav computer.

I love Prometheus. They say it was boring But for me the psychological dragging is very effective and keeps me interested

In a deleted scene, the engineer that pursued Shaw seemed amazed at some of the stuff in the crashed ship which implied high culture, books and a hologram of a child playing. Kinda sad because it implies that the Engineer sort of realizes that they may have jumped the gun with regards to the humans.

If i was having a nice nap and some creature wakes me up asking how to live forever then I'll do the same as that engineer did to david!
  • The Engineers appear to have a caste system similar to the Forerunners from Halo. Each member of the species is born into a caste, warrior, scientist, builder, etc. They have no wiggle room when it comes to their professions. Once you’re born into one of these castes, there’s no leaving it. When you’re born a warrior, you’ll die a warrior.

The engineers, 10 foot tall super intelligent race with advanced tech. Gets killed by squid ink
  • I always thought that David made his version of the xenomorphs and the real xenomorphs are created by the engineers

Bro idk about you, I KNOW this is fiction, but how this man is explaining it makes it feel real af.

After reading the original script it turns out that the engineers took Jesus as a boy to their home planet and taught him their ways then brought him back. Then he was crucified and that pissed the engineers off so they decided that humans should be exterminated. The original script is so much better then the movie that came out.

Engineers ære probably the most interresting part of the alien universe imo. Glad you did a video on this as your content is top notch!

Prometheus set the story up so perfect, then we got Alien: Covenant.
  • The Engineers are fascinating & I wanna see a movie about them in detail.
  • In the comics is implied that Jesus Christ was a genetical modified engineer send to earth to guide them, but we all know how well it went, they became piss off after that and ended up deeming mankind as violent and dangerous, henceforth why they are trying to destroy earth with all those bio-weapons. They succeed eventually with xenomorphs reaching earth, but still got fucked over in the end.

10:25, I was a little disappointed that David created the Xenomorphs, but he wasn't the only one.

The engineer that killed weyland was disgusted at him begging for more life and silencing the scientist shaw who was asking the right questions but was silenced with a muzzle to her c section. The engineers face was so understanding of shaws questions, that I’m convinced he understood her.

I much preferred the set up in the original Alien movies before the retcon. I loved the idea that humanity was taking it's first steps into space and finding something like a desolated galaxy, the sides involved dead by the weapons they resorted to, Great Filter-style. I liked the xenomorph as being like a metaphor for landmines on a cosmic/lovecraftian scale, as human's explored who knew what we might trigger in the dark corners of a post-apocalypic galaxy. So much potential in that idea now gone...
