I’m so glad Robb has his best friend Theon by his side in this monumental undertaking. There are hard times ahead but with a trusty, loyal friend like Theon by his side, I know everything will turn out great for Robb Stark.

Maester - "Okay, whos the shithead who accidentally released all the ravens before i've even started writing??"

Early game of thrones hit different. The storytelling. The music. The dialogue. Everything was world class

Luwin's face: As you wish Luwin's brain: A risky move, but the right move Luwin's heart: I RAISED THAT BOY!
  • "Call the banners." "All of them, my lord?" "Yes. But don't call the Boltons. Leave them out."

According to GRRM they tried to get a little montage of all the lords receiving their messages here (Greatjon, Manderly, Bolton), but didn't have the budget or the right actors cast yet. Would have been cool.
  • “Joffrey puts my father in chains, now he wants his ass kissed?” Only a Scotsman could say that with conviction.

To this day, this scene still gives me goosebumps. "Now we'll see what their words are worth".

this is perfect writing, Robb started losing war when he stoped being afraid and became stupid.

I miss good old Maestar Luwin, definitely an underrated character

I still get chills when hundreds of ravens just start FLOCKING out of Winterfell. Maester Luwin got shit done real quick.

8 seasons done and dusted and season 1 still had the best scenes. No CGI, no dragons or armies, just brilliant writing and storytelling. This scene gave me more goosebumps than anything in the final season.

I love how Luwin smiles when Robb calls the banners.

Robb's scenes are still my favorite scenes from this show.
  • Luwin as masterfully acted here. When he asks "All of them?", he's clearly worried about how many men Robb will summon. Too many? Too few? But right after Robb's response, his expression subtly changes. He knows that it isn't the greatest of ideas to go against the Crown, but he's also proud of Robb.

Robb was around 15-18 years old at this point depending on the show or book but he was so young and did the one thing that no one in Westeros feared too much to do: Fight against the most powerful lord in the realm, Tywin Lannister. The balls of this lad.

0:50 Luwin is obviously trying not to smile; he knows now how much Robb is his father's son.

"Call the banners." "All of them my lord?" "No, just House Twenty Goodmen and House Sixty-Two."

"I will see what their words are worth." Robb had some of the most bad-ass lines and facial expressions. Also, I always feel comforted by Maester Luwin's face. He was a good man...

Luwin really coming in with the clutch not only recognizing Sansa's handwriting (Rob may not have known) but that her words were not her own. He clearly understands the politics of King's Landing, and the players as well.
