I don't play country music, but I'm studying your lesson. This is a great lesson to improve your rhythm playing no matter what style of music you play. You provide great instruction.

Short video packed with great flavors and textures of awesome strumming patterns. Can't thank you enough! Very much appreciated!
  • I had the same exact problem as you had in holding the pick for almost 10 years! It was so frustating, but I wasn't able to figure out where I was wrong, and being a soloist mostly plaing metal music made things even worst! I was asking to friends, trying to find videos on picking techniques, but nothing worked. Once I was quite down about that thing and I asked God to let me understand where the problem was, and suddenly I found a video of Paul Gilbert explaining few exercises, and in this video he explains that he had the same problem as me and you had! So I changed the way of holding the pick not to the tip of the index finger but to its side, and thank God I've improved rapidly from that day! And now I want to learn some country because it's amazing!

You made my day..............I've been looking all over for a good basic "strumming lesson" that doesn't concentrate so much on chord change, and sticks with the actual strumming pattern that really brings out the "music"........Thanks for posting!!!
