I have been re-watching the entire anime so my wife can get caught up. It is crazy how hard the anime pushes Luffy being connected to the sun god. So many things I missed the first time. Starting when he defeats Arlong. They go out of they’re way to connect Luffy to the new dawn by showering him in the rays of the sun!

I would just like to point out, Luffy has fought and lost to Kaido multiple times before awakening his devil fruit. That takes a lot out of someone, especially with how crazy the fight was. So I don't really know how much of gear 5's "after effects" are really due to the awakening versus Luffy just being tired from the fight. Even looking at the most recent chapters he recovered from using gear 5 rather quickly and was mostly tired from running around the island.  Anyways ignore my side rambling lol great video <3

I love Luffy's journey from the start to the present. Wether is reading the manga (1074 Chapters) or watching the anime (1051 Episodes), it's been a fun ride from seeing the little boy from Windmill Village become a great pirate in the New World.

I think Red Hawk works by combining Gear 2 and Armament. His body resists stretching while armament is active, so by fully extending his arm and THEN activating armament, the force caused by his arm forcibly returning (the incredible friction) combined with his already superheated body from Gear 2, creates enough heat to ignite his fist, and since the armament is active it doesn't hurt him

the thing that i like on luffy's chraacter and personality is that he learn through his mistakes and because of this he grow much stronger than anyone he face with. Also he is fighting for his comrade putting his life on the line, that's why i respect luffy and if he become my captain i would not regret joining on his crew.
