Snide Arrogant Witness Gets Owned? | Post Office IT Horizon Scandal. Matthew Lenton - 12 June 2024

Catriona Hodge, Barrister, very calmy takes down a couple of pegs Matthew Lenton, the Fijitsu document controller who, it'd seem, didn't have much control over stuff being deleted.

He was so cocky at the start seeing a woman interviewing him but soon realised she was far more clever than he thought. Well done young lady, you did well.
  • Aren't all the people involved in committing this Post Office travesty just absolutely fucking awful.
  • @tonykehoe123
Unfortunately , these types occupy so many positions within society at large now .

He’s attempting to look down on this lady only to discover he’s the smallest thing in the room.

A grotesque example of how bad corporate culture has become.
  • This is why barristers and KCs get so well paid. They are ridiculously smart. Not like the people at POL. From the Chairman down. These KCs are tearing them to pieces. The trouble with lying. You have to remember a lie, you recall the truth.

Still waiting to see these scumbags from post office in court. The country is waiting.

It's a pity the Covid Inquiry can't be bothered to question people properly like this.

With 40 years in IT, I have never heard of a list of bugs, errors or issues being deleted, even in a small and unimportant project. When I have had my projects and programmes audited, or later when I became an IT Quality Manager, it was insisted that all bugs, errors, changes, risks are properly archived so they could be retrieved after the project/programme had concluded. Finally, any quality manager or internal auditor would automatically assume that any such deletion was for less than honest purposes and to obscure what previously transpired, as there would be no legitimate reason to proactively delete them.
  • Imagine, at your place of work, some money goes missing. You get blamed. If you deny it you are threatened with court resulting in prison. Or if you admit it you just get a suspended sentence or community punishment. So to avoid prison you admit guilt. Over and done with you think. Then your company sues you for court costs because you were found guilty, you owe £350,000 in court costs. Your life ruined. This company is called the Post Office. Their logo is " whatever you need us for, we're here for you". They spent £100 million in expensive lawers to try to avoid paying £58 million in compensation. The class action saw the incorrectly convicted see £20,000 in compensation after court costs. The executive salaries were between £250,000 and £500,000. Post Office investigators were given bonuses for every Horizon conviction

Well she exposed him beautifully. Not as clever as he thought he was.

His character and demeanour is exactly what I’ve come across with data managers in large firms. She handled it very professionally of course.
  • a wonderful example of "Corporate Britain". Corrupt to the core, with no responsibility. Take the money and run.

I worked for a big company from leaving school in 1983 for about 10 years, then left the business and worked until retirement for myself. I could not work in that toxic back stabbing environment, with these people trying to climb the greasy pole, who would sell their grandmother for a promotion. They are the least trustworthy people in what should be trusted positions in the company. Just shameful behaviour
