Cabling Devices | Network Fundamentals Part 2

Now you know what a network is, it's time to see how they're cabled, and how addresses are used.

This video is for people that are first starting out in networking. All you need to bring is interest and enthusiasm.

My goal of the network Fundamental Series is to help anyone wanting to get into the IT field learn more about Networking.

Have a deeper look into the #Ethernet protocol, as dive into cabling and WiFi.

We investigate copper cables, and fibre cables. Full duplex and half duplex. straigh-through and crossover cables.

Each section includes a quiz to get you thinking. The answers to the quizzes in this video are found at:
networkdirection.net/Connecting+Devices+and+Addres…

If you're studying for CCENT, CCNA, JNCIA, or Network+, this video can help you.

I learned more watching this 25 minute video than I did in an entire semester at my networking class.
  • @brunofracs
    1) 1000Mb/s = 1Gb/s, UTP (CAT5e or superior). 2)Straight through cable, crossover cable. 3) When the wrong cable is used, what it does is reassign the pins to the correct functions. 4) Between Routers and Switches and for servers, Single-mode is for longer distances (Laser). 5) Maximum degree to which a cable can be bent, optic fiber. 6)Dual core fiber.

These videos helped me pass CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, and finally CASP.
  • finally, a tutorial by someone that truly understands how little a new beginner understands and that explains every detail or comment that it will be learned later on. I always drown in unanswered questions when looking at tutorials, but this tutorial seems to be an exception.
  • @luismikalim2535
It's unfair that u give such a detailed explanation for others to learn while i had to spend hours on a book to learn all these. Great job tho!

It's incredible how he makes this incredibly confusing and intimidating topic become understandable. The amount of work he puts in to the videos alone must be insane. I can't believe this is made for everyone to use at no cost. I'm an Electrician for a company that does oil and gas and other industrial jobs. Those companies use a shit ton of networking for transmitting and receiving for the endless amount information coming to and from instruments and devices for monitoring operations. My company sent me to a brief 2 day fiber optic installer course to learn how to test and terminate fiber. In that course they never discussed anything about networking and how such things work and why they're important. Finding someone to explain these things accurately on the job is near impossible. So all of this information from all your videos are helping me understand what all these networking equipment is used for and how it works. Thank you.

Thank you so much! I've been working about 9 months in my new job as a Remote Service Engineer and I'm completely new to the field! I ve just had a couple of months of fullstack and database programming courses prior to that, so now I am trying to do what I can to build a good foundation of general IT knowledge. Your videos are really wonderful - thank you so much for sharing these with us!
  • @jordanmancini
These videos are amazing. I was originally going to get licensed to do IT work but I decided against it because I didn't understand anything about networking at the time. Now everything just clicks.
  • @lukeagex
Bloody brilliant. Straightforward and easy to understand, fundamental knowledge. Thanks heaps!
  • @pogo55555
Reviews never hurt and sometimes help. I'm a double CCNP and I got value from this material. Thank you. Where were you when I really needed all of this 20 years ago? But like I said, I filled in a couple of breaches and I got interested in a few other concepts I rarely take time to reflect upon. It was very nice.
  • @minihelp3166
I use all these cables practically at my work but it took me years to understand what you taught in less than 25 mins with such great details! I did ended up taking few screenshot for my reference! Kudos!
  • People who give good informational tutorials for free are no less than angels. So opposite to the kind of people who we come across as colleagues in corporate world.
  • @smichpog
Stumbled across your videos. I totally don't need this in my job, and yet I could not stop watching. Really great job man!! And I know how long it takes to put one video together... Great work, on both delivery and content
  • This series is a life-saver, I struggle with the network side of things when it comes to computer science but the way you break everything down and explain it is so much more manageable. Well done!
  • @MoveBro
Been working at a smaller security company for a year and we do it all. I feel like this playlist should be a must watch for new hires, if only they would have told me this stuff a year ago! I’ve been learning trial and error
  • @atilagee3388
Dude! I'm sooo impressed! You have explained something so complex and complicated in such an easy, patient & encouraging manner with great examples and amazing video editing and that tone of voice wow! You deserve an award for even making it free!! Like some earlier comment said, I truly feel like I owe you money and I sure hope you're making loads somewhere cos you deserve every dime of it! Keep inspiring Bruv!! Nice one!

I recently started a new job as a Project Manager for a State Health agency in their IT department. I have years of PM experience but it's all been with a SaaS product, so a lot of IT basics are still new to me. This entire course was super helpful. I learned so much!
  • Your explanations are so clear. Thank you and thank you again for taking the time to put the videos together.
