Damn Ben. You are literally the ONLY person on YouTube that I'd watch an hour long video for. 30 minutes is pretty much the limit for everyone else. You are just too entertaining, never change. I actually didn't care at all about the printer either, I'm a Prusa fanboy.

6:24 love how it accidentally captures the beginning of Ben scolding Bud off camera and then quickly cuts.

Good thing Creality doesn’t make cars. You’d have to become a mechanic in order to properly use your car.

So i own a Bambulabs X1C and a P1P. I knew this was a "clone" but i didn't realize how much of a clone it was until i saw this video. The setup, the screws, the packaging, the thin ribbon cable going to the display, the UI, obvious the looks. That is crazy.

When are you going to get the bambu lab x1 with AMS. I finally punted and got one after I was in the middle of a job and the damn flashforge extruder screwed up again. My first 3d printer was a makerbot cupcake cnc (came in a box of parts and you had to build the hot end and extruder). This is my 4th printer in 13 years and it’s nice to see we are finally getting to where the maintenance only takes 5 minutes vs 3 hours.

Sometimes the glue is used as a release material. Some materials, like PETG, might bind too well with the print surface and rip chunks out when you remove it. The glue releases easier while still being tacky enough for printing. I usually use glue with a little spray of IPA for an even thin coating.

Hey at least you had access to a CNC machine when you made your Atari. I was using a Radio Shack project box, If I had a 3D printer back then I would have been blown away!

This is the most entertaining tech review I’ve ever watched
  • Not all PLA can be printed at speed so it's worth taking time to run a max flow text and then you can work out the max print speed for each filament. The Prusament I have didn't like printing fast and would max out at 14 mm3 /s. I am using ESUN EPLA HF and it's much like the hyper pla and prints very fast, but also when printed at normal speeds is quite strong. The software is Klipper and Creality have not admitted they are using open source firmware or released the source code.

The glue sticks less than the printbed. On my Bambu Lab printer, PLA sticks to the special PLA plate so well it rips apart the surface if you don't apply any release agent.

These rubber feet dampeners are actually something I've seen commonly used for front-loading washing machines. Makes them less noisy and less likely to damage surrounding furniture due to vibrations.

Bud: I feel itchy ... You don't scratch my neck!
  • @kacakmazot.
I'm waiting for k1 max. Good review thanks 👍

As for Hyper PLA I've heard Bambu brand filaments are formulated mostly for quick melting. I've had a X1C for a few weeks and plan to start testing my non Bambu filaments. I'm getting prints light years better than my Ender 3 V2.

If you tighten the belts you probably need to calibrate the input shaping since it changes the resonances. the style of printer is called cireXY. What kind of nozzle does it use ? Is ir like the bond tech or the new revo
  • Thanks for the review! What was Bud's review of the box?
  • @ArcadeAdam
Thank you, your videos are amazing. I was in stitches laughing hard enough to annoy my wife by the 7min mark.

I think the height of the deviations in those early prints could be due to the bed getting low enough to change the angle of the bend in that filament lead tube to start allowing easier movement of the filament. That would explain why it was the same height in each print.
