It’s really hard to compete with a device like this. With many others, you are getting a lot of what makes this a fantastic piece of hardwear, but you miss the mark on some key areas. Mapping alone is worth the premium for many users. As of this upload date, they are on sale (at least in Canada and the US) which is a bonus. 👍

Thanks for watching, appreciate all of your support.

Love the way you did the 7 key points that you like. DC Rainmaker and the boys have the spec thing down. Need more personal feedback like yours. Thank you

Yep, I would totally agree with your list. Very well done!

Awesome! Picked one up today at REI on sale. This review solidified my purchase. Thanks for the video. Well done!

Ended up scoring the standard 51mm for $649.99. I originally had a fenix 6x pro then upgraded to the non-pro EPIX last year. Didnt like the smaller 47mm size, so I gifted it to my mother. This is by far the best watch ive ever owned. Think im good for another 3-4 years 😁
  • Took my epic pro 51mm to the Kilimanjaro and I had all my stats. Charged the battery once before and it was amazing! And yes mapping!! Hell yeah!! And thanks for the cool video!

AW to Garmin to AWU to now back to Garmin. I have the Epix Gen 2 and I love it. I want the Epix Pro in white - 51mm! I love big chunky watches! I had the AWU and was always looking for a third party app to give me all of the data Garmin provides. Garmin has it all in one app! You can view texts messages on your watch just not reply, and Tbh, I never used my AWU to text. Always had my phone with me to do so. Both watches are great, it all depends on your preference!

I have this but in the 47 mm and I love it! I am a woman with small wrist and bad 50 year old eyes. The 42 mm was too small for my eyes and the 51 mm was too big for my wrist. The 47 mm was perfect. I have been running since I was 14 and didn’t buy my first gps watch until I was 40. This has been my favorite. I do have the Suunto Race and Vertical. Like them but the Garmin is just easier to use. Had the Apple Watch Ultra and that was a joke for battery life. I tried the Coros watches but the gps accuracy was not impressive and pace was laggy. Great review!
  • Nice! I have a lowly Vivoactive and I find that the temp info is quite annoying in that it never seems to work. Aside from that I like it.

Love mine. I had a 47mm Epix 2 and sold it on Swappa and bought the Pro when it released. The 47 was just too small for my wrist too. No regrets. I use the HRM Pro+ strap too. I think I use the flashlight several times a day now that I think about it.

Nice review. Totally agree with the torch thing... seemed like a novelty, yet I've used it multiple times in the week since I got this for my birthday 😄 I also have the 51mm... mainly due to my eyesight finding the 47mm one too difficult to read without glasses.

great video once my fenix 3 dies i be buying this or the next gen right now i am waiting for the edge 1050 to come out as i am hearing rumors about that as my edge 810 died this past year. happy training

Everything I agree. 1 advice to buyers don’t buy full price cause garmin has this habit releasing watches every 6 months get a bargain or lower price trust me save a few extra bucks or hundreds is a necessity 🙌 Trust me you won’t regret it 😄✅

I love mine. I have always on display always on. I charge watch every Saturday morning but it still says 6 more days left. Nuts!! I did really like my ultra but Apple need to up there game.

I prefer the Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar only because I recently purchased it. I looked around and no shop had the Epix, so yeah. But I'm not complaining at all.
  • @InK664
I very happy with my Garmin, it is just a pity I can’t not update as it does not like MS 11
  • @macroecomix
Really enjoyed the video of yours. I had the Garmin Instinct 2X solar but sold it as I wanted an AMOLED display. I am in the market to buy an Epix Pro Gen 2 but contemplating to wait for the new either Epix or Fenix.

Dave, buy the ultra fit Nylon band from Garmin. It’s so, so good. 👊 (at least on the 47mm version its perfection)
