Best Landmine Attachments Part 1: Wishbone

Published 2021-03-08
Landmine setup is one of the simplest and one of the most versatile gym arrangements we can think of.
However, as great as it is, it has a few flaws which can be easily turned into an advantage with additional accessories.
One of these is surely the wishbone attachment, known also as a linebacker.

In this video, we present the most basic exercises which we can add to our training, with the help of this extra piece.
The purpose of this clip is NOT to show every single exercise which can be performed with this attachment but rather show the exercises, this equipment is best for.

Do you think this attachment covers the need to get a viking attachment as well?

I've been contemplating getting the Wishbone, and the one thing that keeps working against the idea is that it may be difficult to put weight plates on the side pegs without a training partner, since as soon as you put one plate on, the Wishbone would rotate, dumping that plate, before you can put the opposite plate on. Jorge at Purmotion says it's possible to put one plate on and a collar, allow the unit to rotate the plate down, then put the opposing plate on the opposite peg, now facing the ceiling. I'm wondering whether, with lighter plates (e.g. 10s) you could put one plate on a side peg, then work your way around to the opposite peg while holding the Wishbone steady. Do you ever use those side weight pegs? Thanks.

interesting piece of equipment. Seems like you can only get one plate on the bar due to the size of the Wishbone attachment. Am i wrong?
  • That jumping can not be good for your knees. You’ll blow out your cartridge jumping and dead landing onto your knees. Bad move. You keep up with that and you won’t have any knee cartilage left in your elder years.
