Parking your Dauphin next to your Blackhawk is one heck of a flex!

Windscreen cleaning 101 from a 16 year veteran working GA operations. When clean a windscreen (not a windshield) one does not clean in circles. This causes swirls in the glass, causing a halo effect. Over time hard to see out because of the refraction of light. The correct way to clean a windscreen is vertically, straight lines from the top of the windscreen to the bottom, or bottom to top.

Being a Coast Guard Veteran I do love the sound of the Dolphin Helo's! A very distinct sound always made my ears perk-up when I'm at the beach.

as a fellow heli pilot, i salute you brother. well done. RIP to all the camera men left behind on this trip.

Love the Dauphin and your great content. I am an ex-Coast Guard aviator and spent many hours aloft in your recent acquisition. Unfortunately cancer has clipped my wings so thank you for letting me live vicariously through your eyes, ears and feet which used to feel very comfortable on those rudder pedals. Please keep the adventures coming! Jay

Hey Mate, great video. Just a friendly tip at 20:25 when cleaning the helicopter windscreen. Instead of wiping it in circles, try up and down motion because if the windscreen is getting scratched, they are vertical line scratches not horizontal. Learnt this tip at my Helicopter Flying school who also have a large fleet of squirrels for Power Line inspections here in Australia and horizontal scratches can make spotting of powerlines difficult. Hope this helps and love the helicopter content, always very inspiring.

As a helicopter flight mechanic in the Coast Guard who works on these everyday. It is cool to see dave and the team love the 65! It is an awesome aircraft with many different capabilities and I’m sure they will love it for a long time!

Applaud to the editors of this. Nicely done, loved the music pause before mounting the heli. Hats off to you, this was pleasant to watch.

With all these planes and all i wonder how long before HeavyD buys an airport to store all of his and his buddies planes and helicopters.

To me the Dauphin may be the most beautifil helicopter out there overall...but that Blackhawk OMG!

@HeavyDSparks I used to work EMS in northern ohio and that blue airframe is absolutely a legend in that world. 93SV responded to scenes i called them on. That Dauphin sound was always nice to hear orbiting a wreck on the turnpike or some other critical incident. I was so sad when Mercy went to the Augustas but I am also so excited to see these two warriors getting a second life. This makes my day

Our local trauma center flew these and they have such a distinctive sound. I can recognize it instantly. Back in the 90's many of the pilots were Viet Nam vets and were amazing. The nurses and flight MD's were the best of the best. It was always a thrill to watch them land on some random road or highway. Sadly, I don't have "good" memories associated with them, as the scenes were usually very traumatic. I would say "vivid" memories. I know they saved countless lives and they were your best chance of making it in a truly awful situation. Glad this one will live on in "retirement".

I’m a great grandmother but love watching Dave and his crew, always fun and something new going on.

💯 one of the coolest helicopters out there. 20 years wrenching and crewing them in the Coast Guard 👍🏼 congrats @HeavyDSparks
  • @PerfectedEvil
I love that you fly different types of helicopters. Each with their own unique handling. That's going to make you a much better pilot over time.
  • @kingRJ-
I rode in one of them helicopters as a patient. I don’t remember much. But I do know it saved my life. The whole crew from the helicopter visited me a few weeks later in the hospital room I was in. Can’t thank them enough for what they did for me and what they do for others.

I've seen Augusta/Eurocopter/Airbus Dauphin helicopters with over 15,000 hours on the air frame. Hands down, one of the best civilian helicopters ever built. Our local Medivac units use to fly the Dauphin 24/7, 365 days a year. With the increases in medical gear constantly added, they are being phased out for the AugustaWestland/Leonardo 139.

I stumbled across your channel yesterday and I am so thankful I did. Your show is amazing but what you so selflessly do for others is so inspiring. If the world had more people like you and your team it would be a much better place. I cried like a baby watching you recover the gentleman’s remains off the side of the mountain in Oregon and I just wanted to say thank you and God bless you and your team. The Lord will bless you for all your blessings you give others!!
