I did in fact end up adopting Teddy after all! I'm very happy we were able to work out the logistics so he could stay with me. His behavior is improving a lot as well :)

The cat is treating him like his best cat friend. Anyone with two cats that get along very well, knows that cats have lots of energy, especially indoor cats. And they chase each other around, and turn into one big ball of biting scratching fur. Fur literally flies all over. It LOOKS wild, but they're having a great time. I had two brothers. They were utterly devoted to each other. I got them as tiny kittens...rescue, of course. And when they weren't attacking each other and leaving clumps of fur all over the house, they were licking each other, and curled up asleep together. This lovely young man has been deemed an honorary cat sibling by this fur ball. Which is quite the testament to how nice he is.

This man low key loves it. You can tell. That’s why he’s always smiling even when he’s trying to look “scared” 😂
  • I went on his Instagram and found out he is producer/editor at The Dodo itself. So yes! It's obvious he needs to travel a lot for his work and I feel really happy that he is thinking about the cat first. He will definitely do what's best for him. Loads of love and respect ❤

What a great guy. Thanks for clearly explaining all the responsibilities of pet ownership and why love isn’t enough. Tough decision but the right one.
  • @jennifero5496
He needs another kitty friend!! Glad you realized that and are still giving him the best home until he finds a purrfect fit :) :)
  • @cl-ev2sg
Thank you for helping out your friend. It is not easy having a fur-baby when work requires business travel. I hope someone falls in love with kitty and reaches out to adopt. Automated toy, ingenious!

First of all, what a great foster dad and a friend this guy is! It looks like Teddy needs a lot of attention and interaction. The suggestion to get another cat as company might work, but it doesn’t change the fact that “dad” travels a lot. There’s no guarantee that the new cat and Teddy will get along or even like each other. I think that finding Teddy a new home would be the best solution, and a very selfless and loving act for “dad” to do. I hope Teddy finds his forever home! 💕

Just reading the title of this video makes me want to see a video where Tim Curry voices this cat, and sings of how the man will love his toxic love.

I think the biggest animal lovers are the ones who can accept they're not a good fit for an animal. That takes so much self awareness and selfless love to want the best for a pet, even if it means saying goodbye. I hope Teddy finds a home with another kitty he can be friends with! Rehoming isn't evil, I really hope that the inexplicable stigma against it can eventually fade.

Im 52 and I grow weary of hearing about "these kids today" and negative things about our young people. These fine young people right here I find in my personal experience to be very representative of our younger generations...Im in the restaurant biz and work with tons of them. They have a lot to offer and I have faith in them to create a good future. ❤
  • I'm gonna talk to my grandma about this. She loves cats and I'm living there for a while to take care of my grandpa anyway, so I could totally socialize with this cat.
  • @calebtesfaye3925
The thumbnail makes it look like the guy's terrified of the cat. It's hilarious.
  • @darthuncle
I'm not even mad he wants to get rid of Teddy. He just wants him to live his best life. Maybe you can find a home that will allow you to visit periodically and you won't lose his friendship forever.
  • @THOMKALLOR
He's very happy - shows his tummy a lot - and maybe he's just a little insecure because his mommy left him with a new daddy. He plays too rough, but he will get over it!
  • @qmnnvrdyz8965
A lot of people think he should keep Teddy, but he's clearly laid out why it's not in the cat's best interest, and I agree with him. I think Teddy will find a great home...he's such a sweetie-puss! I already have 3 cats and a large dog, so, financially speaking, adopting him is out of the question, for me, but hopefully, someone else will. Also, the comments about him "giving up" on Teddy aren't helpful. ❤

Love it when a cat decides you're worthy of their affection😆 Especially if they've been scared, like when he hid under the bed😓 🐺
  • @redmarion3tt377
Has me crying because he reminds me so much of my rag doll boy I had. Then again Mattie used to herd moles and mice INTO the apartment we had. Trust me when I say if you go on a trip and have a neighbor or friend you can trust check on him and his food and water and stuff while you’re gone it will help. As a cat person I have to warn you that you will be punished for leaving but loved even more. He’s chosen YOU.
  • @karenplath_
The guy is just being honest. I think he's done exceedingly well by this ball of floof. When he mentioned that another companion cat or dog would be great, I knew he had the bases covered. It's not a great fit. But he tried his best.
  • @mibeatleman6767
The cat sounds like he has abandonment issues, that his original owner no longer had him and this man is gone for long stretches at a time. He needs someone who's home pretty much all the time.
