As one of the lucky university mentors chosen to help on this day I had the privilege of meeting the First Lady herself and experienced her inspirational speech first hand. I was impressed that she took the time to speak to every student and mentor individually after the event despite her hectic schedule.

what i love about this is that she answers the young people honestly, straight forward and without condescension. that's pretty awesome.

I am honor with all respect to be a part of the great US today because of the first Black American Family. Never in a million as long as I live here in America, I was able to be part of the people because of first Lady Michelle Obama reaching out to everyone, I have had so many opportunities to get out and take part in Events.I would love to be a student of your university please send me information

Michelle Obama is clearly smart, sensitive, thoughtful and wise. Above all, her humility is striking, as is her most human character. I was most impressed, and really quite moved by her words here. The only other thing I would say is this: if you would be happiest being a carpenter for example, or doing anything else which doesn't necessarily entail getting into the greatest and best universities, just do it exceptionally :)
  • She is so humble and sensitive. she knows she is talking to teens who are more interested in her as first lady, but see how carefully she always takes the discussion back to them encouragingly AND TALKS ABOUT THE VALUE OF EDUCATION,sitting in at Christchurch ,she cant possibly tell them oh its fine being a fishmonger,so long as you do it with commitment, its not the platform,
