Was this the entirety of the program? It just seems to end with him talking about Bouchard's betrayal

well, sure, he got some things done but Kim Campbell might have something candid to say about his “moral leadership” and what constitutes treachery, leaving her holding the proverbial bag the way he did...he was an opportunist, a conceited one, who could do no wrong, nor could he accept responsibility for his actions when they went south. This is glaringly apparent in his demeanour here whilst sitting down and chatting with Lloyd. Any shortcomings spewing from his decisions were someone else’s fault. As we all know, The Conservative party never was the same after he was done with it...the low-rent lunatic right now holds those reigns.

Interesting documentary. Mulroney backstabbed. But great individual person. Strong moral values. Don't see this anymore.

as a gleeful Mulroney headed out of Schefferville with a captivated press corps in tow, Iron Ore was also laying off almost a thousand workers in Labrador City, Newfoundland — without paying them any severance. Far from the cameras, many of these workers faced personal bankruptcy, unable to keep up mortgage payments on their suddenly worthless houses or to pay the $10,000 the company was demanding to move their house trailers out on the company-owned railroad.
  • Certainly an important time in Canadian politics, so many issues and he worked hard at those issues
  • Just a beautiful marriage, I never really knew much about him until his funeral & now am trying to learn as much as I can about him🤔😊

Poor Joe Clark: screwed over by the elder Trudeau, screwed over by Mulroney.

When was this interview taken anyway? Like what is the date of the interview?
  • @mattmckay5054
Unfortunately it was discovered he took bribes. He was simply a crook.
  • @ButchMcLarty
What? No mention of the Airbus Affair and the fat money envelopes from German arms dealer Karl Heinz Schreiber?

This is a great example of all the poor leaders we had in this country. No one can beat who we have in the office now. Absolute corruption.

This is when I used to vote Conservative, but when Herr Harper took over, it was bye-bye to idiots!

I haven't been this sad and upset since Ed Broadbent died. When I heard Mulroney passed away, I called my psychiatrist and took a bereavement day off to mourn. I don't think the country can take anymore grief.

Does anyone know what led to his death at only 84?
