I'm a data engineer but believe me It's one of the most exhausting jobs out there. Everyone talks about money and packages but no one talks about the struggle and major stress we go through. I am literally dying doing this job.

As a data engineer, I would like to warn people, at times I had to work 14-16 hours and I have seen people work 35-40 hour non stop. And many times work on weekend, and it's not an easy job, especially at startups, you need to use your brain. No one will ask you to be online all day, but rather give you pressure to get the work done. You can write code but fixing bugs takes 5x time. Yes, there's money, but it's not free money. It depends on the company as well, but even interviews are not that easy for good jobs.

It took me 2 years and one switch to reach 13.6 as a DE. The entry level DE salary is a bit lower at 6-7 lpa.

Nobody offers 12-15lpa based on your college grades and gives you a data engineering role(Excluding the Top Tier Companies). Companies first hire on the basis of their campus/off-campus hiring structure post that if one is lucky enough to get a Data engineering project he/she becomes a Data Engineer by practice. Getting a Data Engineering project doesn't assure you that kind of pay. The Package stated in the video should be of a Post Graduate in Data Science or an accredited institute that provides courses and placement on Data Engineering.

There’s no entry level jobs as Data Engineer. Most of us take an indirect route via SWE, DB engineers, DA. But have to say, it’s a sought after field in today’s age. It’s easy to switch your interests to DS/ML, have seen a lot of seniors do so.
  • @Square500
With master in CS,DS you get this entry level salary, not by doing any online bootcamp 😂
  • @eispider
If you are in software industry you just require two skills strong fundamentals and curiosity to learn new things, everything else will come as you grow.

Entry level as 12 lpa is possible for a semi-top tier or top tier college, distinction and hiring org is prod based MNC. Either she is experienced candidate or she is straight away lying.
  • @shubne
Experience of 2+ year have this much of salary. Fresher will get max 7 lpa. Skills required to be a Data Engineer Sql, python, linux, spark, hadoop, aws or azure, any BI tool power bi or tablue, snowflake or redshift as data warehouse.
  • 12-15Lpa is not the entry level salary...it's 8-9 lpa....12-15 lpa is the average salary
  • @Ritesh_09133

  • @Loki1997L
Nice video sir... Explain all if you can in next video.
  • @Travel_with_JA
Data engineer entry level salary is 12-15lpa if you passed out from IIT.Butt what she said about skills is correct!
  • @jishnurajeev2911
no one becomes a data engineer right out of college. Yes, a fresh graduate from a top tier colleges/universities can bag 10-15 LPA. But they are always always hired as Associate Engineer/Developer. They are then deployed to projects after the initial training based on the organisations requirement. In my understanding what she is trying to say is, once an engineer moves into data engineering, they can expect this salary

"Data analyst major in data visualization" is best job according to entry level salary and job wise. I'm also data analyst intern and i like doing data transformation and visualization part mainly. Best part of DA :- 1. Secure job, Max salary after experience and jobs/market for DA and DS will increase in coming years. Worst part of DA :- 1. Hard to get a job as a freshers 2. You need pratical knowledge and project with real time data is plus point.
  • @manohar287
Mechanical engineer with 8 years experience getting 40k 😢
  • @sachingotal11
I'm a Lead DE. The entry level salary you can expect is 5-7 LPA. But obviously if you are into FAANG then the package is high for entry level engineers as well, but i highly doubt if any company in FAANG or MAANG hires entry level DE. Or if you are in startups that pay really well. But mostly please don't listen to such bullshit online and choose your career. The reality is quite different and sometimes dissapointing.
