Google Drive is fantastic for managing all of your files and folders. But you don’t have to be bland and organize Drive by name only. Get creative and start adding colors to help you identify key folders. And don’t stop there. Add emoji’s and icons to differentiate your folders within Google Drive.

Thanks for your suggestions, Scott. I have used colors for folders but was unaware of emojis. I'm going to look over my Google Drive folders and be more systematic using your tips.
  • This was so simple, but really helpful. Thanks for keeping it short and sweet. I WILL learn to organize my mind and electronics, and home too. Better late than never.

You don't need to go to the emoji store. For a windows computer/keyboard, just click next to where you want to add an emoji and click the windows icon on the keyboard and the period. This is useful for adding emojis on many platforms. This might be a new feature, not sure.

How do you organize your files and folders in Google Drive❓
  • @DirgeRJ
Only downside to consider with adding emojis is that if you are using backup and sync, it will change the file extension for all files and folders within a folder with an emoji. This can lead to broken links and cause some issues with live linked files not liking the emoji code. Waiting for custom icon feature with google drive that does not require adding emojis. Will probably wait forever... :(

28 people dislike this video? I can't believe it! Thank you for all the work you put into the videos, I've learned so much from this channel!
  • Also! If you want a faster Emoji shortcut, use "Windows Key + .", it opens a window full of emojis, and it can be inserted everywhere!
