I already follow you because I am a black woman with skin concerns. The fact that you have taken the time to address type 4 hair in such an educational way almost brings me to tears. Thank you for your channel and what you do. 🤗🥰
  • Thank you for specifically including type 4 hair in the discussion! A fragrance free dry scalp treatment and doesn't interfere with or revert blown out straightened hair would be revolutionary.

As a Blk man that found your content. I stopped using old spice other harsh body washes. I now use the white dove or Olay bar soaps/body washes. Cerave wash for face that’s it. My skin feels ways better no more itching & irritation. Thank you 🙏🏾
  • Yes please! Make the dry scalp product, and any hair type 4 products are greatly appreciated! 😍 I, we appreciate all of your work creating products for people of color and hyperpigmentation issues!😍🥰

Dr V. There is such a lack of products and proper education in regard to afro hair, particularly 4c. I would certainly like to see the next generation of young black men and women, not as confused and disheartened as I was when it came to caring for my hair. You should DEFINITELY make this product. The effect it could have would be astronomical.

As a black women with dense low porosity 4c hair this is appreciated. We also need something that’s fragrance free as well. I can’t handle scents due to allergies. Not too many options available.
  • This was very helpful! The Black community has a lot of confusion around the care for our hair. I am definitely interested in what you can come up with for dry scalp with Black hair types❤ Thank you for your honest review and expertise on this subject matter.

One thing to mention with combing forces of type 4 hair in shower: Wet hair is far more prone to breakage so this might not be the better option although in theory, it makes sense. From a practical perspective, Type 4 hair is prone to a lot of knots and tangles. These will catch on a comb no matter how gentle the person is. So groming forces are even more amplified when this happens with wet hair. The alternative is an oil like grape seed or something with conditioning agents earlier before washing to help detangle. Keep hair in sections and take care not to disturb the ends of the hair too much when washing the scalp, deep conditioning, rinsing and drying with a towel. Hope someone found this helpful

Hi Dr. V! Thank you for all of the knowledge you share with us! Please make a product for dry scalp. A lot of us suffer with this. Many dermatologists do not know and frankly do not care about brown and black skin. I have been to many dermatologists over the decades, only one or two were helpful and they were people of color. But since I have had to move to different states in the US, it's been hard trying to find an excellent dermatologist. Then I found your videos. A God sent! Thank you for caring and sharing🙂
  • Dr V, I rarely post comments but since I was just about to plug in a flat iron to tame my 4C, I felt this was Divine Intervention :) You have a wonderful heart and brilliant mind. Thank you for all you do!
  • @Kathywake23
She literally detailed exactly what my hairdresser told me to do to get my hair back in shape. Well done Dr. V! Thanks!
  • @keke218
Please formulate the dry scalp treatment! That would be a game changer in the haircare industry, especially for afro hair. We so appreciate all the knowledge and resources you share with us ❤
  • This is great info. Yes, all products for type 4 hair are appreciated. We have been ignored so long. What you call the sandwich method, we call the pre poo. Other Influencers that are single handily changing our community are Curly Proverbz, Green Beauty and Henna Souq. Also, the LCO method is huge in our community L-liquid, C-conditioner, O-oil.

Thank you so much Dr V - women of colour have been neglected from the cosmetic industry. Growing up in Scandinavia, I use to think that my skin and hair were the problem, but after being educated I learned it is the products not me. Please, do make silicone-based products for people with dry scalps. May you continue to prosper. ❤️
  • A video we desperately need. There's so MANY D.I.Y's out here for our hair and each month there are so many new 'organic' products for our hair. It all gets confusing and frustrating when one spends so much money and still get dry hair and at times a flakey scalp
  • @user03819
please create an entire hair care range for us dr v! that promotes hair growth and detangles.
  • This video is what us women of colour have always needed! Thanks so much Dr V, your effort and care are much appreciated! Keep being you ❤

Dry scalp product: Yes. Thanks for the efforts you put into this for us. I have Locs, but can still use the principles that you’ve presented to us so generously.
