Great doco thanks. I dropped out of a western medical school (i kept asking 'what about the mind?') and went and worked for various himalayan masters and tibetan medicine projects in the high himalayas - so great. Met the wonderful Dr Yeshe Dondon (Dalai lama doc) and Tragawa Rinpoche (Darjeeling med school) also. A lot of the plants are being ripped out (roots and all) by ayurvedic types, in that high fragile environment, so I hope we can preserve this valuable tradition.
  • Tibetan people could have been jaded by history but they're still not: that's wonderful.
  • After so much of destruction these people r still thinking for betterment for everyone ,by even byhearting . So much of compassion

Tibetan medical systems is lost puzzle of Ayurveda. Must preserve old manuscripts. Love from India 🇮🇳
  • Fascinating; a glimpse of a lost world. Hard not to despair at the destructiveness of Communism/Capitalism.
  • Been practicing Buddhism seriously since the Covid shut down. I wanted to learn how to be alone and by myself. Fast forward 3 years and I have a complete different perspective of my life. Thank you for sharing this with me. And thank for showing me the importance of Tibetan medicine

Very nice documentary, Part of Tibetan medicine is from Ayurveda. I had visited Dharamshala in 1994 and visited their medical school. Many Tibetans told me that majority of Tibetan medicine is derived from Ayurveda. But it is sad that Communists were so bent on destroying Medical books.

I hope... one day Dalai Lama will be the leader of our world and then... Tibetan medicine will be allowed to use to heal all the sufferings in this world. Thank you so much for this post <3

The brutality of Russia and China in Tibet circa 1949 was and still remains one of the saddest tragedies of mankind.

I'm in chinese medical school now and took a 15 week elective course in tibetan medicine. It's basis is more like european in the 1300's with constitutions being like phlegmatic and such. Some concepts are just wrong (such as the amount of blood in the body-having been an anesthetist I've replaced numerous bodyfulls of blood). What I DID find fasciinating was the concept of dietary therapy, how emotions effect the body and their concept of urine diagnosis was quite fascinating and to see the changes in urine as the patient's condition changed.

This documentary is still relevant today, recently I went to visit a Tibetan Medical Doctor at the Astro Medical Center in Dharmasala, India and it was just like in the film. I was amazed at the doctors training and the meticulous documentation of all the herbs and mineral and beautiful Tankas of the Medicine Buddha.
