Thank for for being honest Jason ! Straight to the point and doesn't just highlight positives. Great review ,, we so need a new RX100 viii with a 18-200!

I will be sticking with my ZV-1 Mark I In my opinion the 900$ price makes the ZV-1 Mark 2 NOT worth it. In Europe I can get the Sony ZV-E10 and the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for about 1080 Euro with Tax or 910 Euro if you expense it as a business. And the image and video quality will be much better. The 750-800 price range is OK for an all in-one solution like the ZV-1

Just got the ZV-E1 and was like for real a new ZV-1 II!? Gotta be honest...between the ZV-E1 and my trusty RX100 VII I think that combo is unstoppable for travel vlogs.

If you vlog with a selfie stick, the 24mm focal length on the original isn't too big a deal because you can just get a gimbal rather than a selfie stick then turn off EIS and the 24mm becomes plenty wide enough.... You only really need the extra width that the 18mm gives you if vlogging handheld which wouldn't be comfortable when facing the camera. I recently bought a nearly new ZV1 for £380 ($470) and if I put a gimbal with it, it is coming in quite a bit less still...... Having said that, I will probably just sell it on and stick with my DJI Osmo Action 3 for vlogging. An action camera is still way more practical in the real world if making vlogs alone... Nice review though!

I literally just purchased the ZV-1 3 weeks ago for my trip in Tokyo. Def won't upgrade to this new one for awhile
  • @PhilKnall
Great in depth review! Sadly i think I'll stick with my m1 because the wide lens isn't worth losing the hfr and oss to me. I hate the micro usb so much though 😂
  • Thanks for the detailled Review. Looks good, but I think I will be sticking with ZV-1M1 for now as a B-Cam...
  • @babyboy1971
I love my ZV1 and I use it for capturing memories like a camcorder and for talking head YouTube and love it. No need to upgrade.

Thank you, my dear friend, for the beautiful Mboxing and the wonderful performance. Sony is a giant company in this field Your love from the Middle East❤❤❤
  • It's honestly even more depressing knowing what magic lantern has done in the past couple of weeks with 12-year-old cameras, giving them the ability to record in 12-bit raw, and still here we are overpaying for bad products. I really hope someday somebody will reverse engineer these Sony cameras because I am sure the capabilities will be way better than we could even imagine.
  • Just what the world needed, another vlogging camera (said nobody ever)
  • Good review! Thanks for your breakdown. Losing optical stabilization is a big one...

The ZV-1 II is the best budget 8-bit green screen camera because you need to match the focal length to the virtual scene and you don't need a wide aperture lens. You want to use f/5.6 for green screen to get the sharpest edges and lowest lens distortion, and increase your lighting, so a 1-inch sensor work fine. You also want bi-color or RGBW LED video light sticks and 6-inch ring lights for the bottom of the horizontal green screen and green screen on the floor.

basically, this is zv-1f with a zoom lens. Thanks for the info!
  • Thanks for the review. I just ordered one today. Coming from shooting video on an old iphone, I think I’ll be happy with this camera.
  • @jkhollywood
Great review, love the zv1, and not worth the upgrade for me.
