www.tfl.org || By Alistair Begg - No one is perfect. We resolve to “try harder,” yet our self-effort always falls short. In fact, our response to temptation exposes our heart’s desires: when we sin, it demonstrates that we love the sin more than we love God. In this message, Alistair Begg explores the need for self-control as we seek to live lives pleasing to our Lord. How can self-control become our “new normal”? As we depend on God’s grace, we are enabled to live within boundaries He has established, motivated not by rules but by our love for Him.

Please Lord help me to live a life pleasing to you. A life that is disciplined, self controlled in my mind, heart and actions. In Jesus name.
  • Pastor begg in my mind is the most clear, precise and easy to understand . May God bless you.
  • If more preaching is done this way the church would be such a testimony to the world
  • I remember when I was in school junior high and above, I did not want to get up and go to church because I wanted to sleep, but when I got there and listened to the sermon, I was so glad to be there, I had great JOY in the Lord! I had a good Father who knew the importance of attendance at our church!
  • Thank you again Pastor Begg for being a faithful minister of the Gospel. I pray you never be tempted to stray from the Word of God to the cotton candy that is being taught in our churches today. I will continue to pray for you and pastors like you.
  • This leaves a very Sweet/Sour taste. I was continually getting convicted and just wanted to kneel down and pray for forgiveness. But I love that my sins are being uncovered so that I can ask for forgiveness once again. Very Good message. God Bless

With all my life’s disappointments which led to a court issue and then losing my life’s work, I can see my heart needed to be cleaned out of self and Christ’s control in me to change direction. Man can never do what only God can. Painful, but imperative.
  • Thank you, Pastor Begg for consistently and faithfully preaching the truth of God's word.
