Humility | Andrew Murray | Free Christian Audiobook

~ Audiobook Description ~
Is humility a Christlike attribute that should be pursued? And even if it should be, can genuine humility actually be attained? Often so practical in application that it is overlooked, the answer is found by studying the life and words of Christ (whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave). This little book is a loud call to all committed Christians to prove that meekness and lowliness of heart is the evidence by which those who follow the meek and lowly Lamb of God are to be known. Never mind that your initial efforts will be misunderstood, taken advantage of, or even resisted. Instead, learn from the One who came not to be ministered unto, but to serve. For a Christian to be alive, for the life of Christ to reign in and through us, we must be empty of ourselves, exchanging our life for His life, our pride for true, Christlike humility.

My 8th time Listening.. it still stops me in my tracks as I listen to the deep truths in it. God be praised for his mercy. May he grant us humility.
  • Listen to this over and over. Humility should be our repeated prayer each day.
  • I'm so grateful to God for using u to bring about this book. I have been struggling with pride and it has cost me alot. Humility is not only before God but also before men. Just as pride is my fallen nature, humility must become my new nature. Just know that I have learnt alot and My life will never be the same again. Thank you for the teachings and the books. May God reward you continually.

No wonder there will only be 'few' who pass through the narrow gate - for this undertaking has to be most difficult of all undertakings - still, with the love and understanding of Christ, i will endeavour to listen and learn, learn and listen, and listen and learn. Thank-you Lord God for revealing this Truth.
  • O how Christians and the Church can be renewed by the Humility of Christ!

I think humility has to do with loveing others instead of just being in love with yourself

This book is a blessing. Thank you Aneko Press for providing the audio version where I can hear it. I think that I am learning so much about myself. When I was younger, middle or high school age, I was accused of thinking that I was better than everyone else. I honestly didn't feel that way but I think this accusation gave seed to my sin life which was my effort to prove I didn't think I was better than anyone. At the same time my desire to prove my worth, and at the same time some positive feedback from teachers and later on business leaders, fed my pride. Later as I graduated from College, my ambition fueled my pride. It manifested itself as an effort to look perfect in the eyes of others so that I could advance as far as possible. My thanks to Andrew Murray for this book which has opened my eyes to where humility should originate from.
  • I needed to hear this. My issue of pride is a bit reversed, in that I've stayed in the shadows ( figuratively speaking) not wanting to put myself out there because I've feared that I'm not pretty enough or that interesting, when I know God spoke to my heart about ministering to others. It has a disguise of humility but it's actually a pride problem. 🙁
  • Outstanding read!! The truth that we need you hear as children of Christ.
  • Thank you again. I will likely listen multiple times to this book...much needed.
  • Thank you for this beautiful book! I really needed to hear these wonderful words, God bless you and your ministry!!
  • Although I agree with Andrew Murray's teaching that it requires a conscious desire to humble oneself daily in order to make the downward journey to death to the self, I do not see him emphasizing the results of this at some point. Jesus said without love I am nothing. But how do we ever get to the point where we have the love of Jesus infused in us so much that the characteristics of love as mentioned in 1st Corinthians 13 are shown in our lives. 1st Corinthians 13 says "the fruit of the spirit is love:"and then it gives the various branches of that love that God extends that love out to at different times to different people for different reasons. Sometimes he will let the fruit of love be shown through joy to give to someone who's down, sometimes the fruit of love will be expressed in a peaceful heart when everyone around you is anxious. These are examples of the fruit of the spirit, which is Love. But this of course is God's love in us that he puts there. This is not any human passion of any kind or friendship love. It is that indefinable word agape. Humility is required to attain this unity with God. But unity with God is what we are seeking. Because Jesus prayed in John 17 I pray that they will be one as we are One. John 17:3 says eternal life is to know God and his only son Jesus Christ. That word "know"refers only in the Bible to the same knowing as in a marital intimate relationship. Until we understand that scripture deeply you will not know him well enough to put our trust in him fully. You don't trust someone you don't know that well. That's why so many Christians do not trust him very much. But how do you get to know him you daily seek what he wants you to know about him either through his messages in his Word or through patiently waiting for him to give you a thought in your heart that the holy Spirit puts there, or through circumstances that he creates for you to know him better. This requires a lot of time and waiting and waiting and waiting. But waiting is not inactivity. Waiting is the highest form of faith in God. Seek him and you shall find him, but don't expect it to be overnight. We humans have a lot of stubborn ego and pride and self-love and these idols must be torn down if we are to know him. Let him tear them down, or remain in a state of non-growth and ineffectiveness for him
  • It's nice to read the book while listening to it too . Thank you Lord ❤
