   • Extreme Cold Teardrop Follow-Up! Answ...

Mike decides to test the limits of the very capable NuCamp Tag teardrop camper by taking it on an overnight camping trip in extremely cold temperatures. How did it go? Watch and find out!
Update: I've received quite a few comments regarding cooking inside the camper. While I did take precautions and the camper is always ventilated when I'm using gas appliances indoors, I do not condone this activity! Do it at your own risk!!

Your dog is always there for you - never complaining - the perfect camping companion.
  • I lost my home a couple years ago and live in my 40 yr old RV made of wood and polyurethane skin with inch and a half thick walls. This winter not being too bad so I was able to keep us warm at 65-68° with my electric radiator heaters. (My furnace no longer works) Last winter got -10° and we struggled to keep it at 50-55° inside. I had to stay bundled and my dogs huddled up and I covered them with a quilt. Being disabled keeps me from being able to do repairs but God has been with US and kept us sheltered so I'm not complaining just sharing how camper life has it's challenges. But overall it's been pleasant and we are happy. 👍

I built a 10x6 6.5 tall on a tent trailer frame and upgraded the axle. 2x3 walls and plywood with a galvanized metal roof. Metal insulated house door chopped down and one window over the sink. Diesel heater, exterior vented and interior fed garbage hatch. Murphy bed, 40” tv, generator, shore power hook up, manual foot pump sink from water jog to bucket. USB shower stall/ bathroom. I moved it onto a farm a few weeks ago and moved in full time. It’s doing me perfect and I don’t mind the minimal set up at all. It’s standing height and still has enough room for doing my work outs inside. I got shire power here and Ben a covered slip for winter. I’m so glad I decided to go this route, best decision ever.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy summer camping. But there is something magical and therapeutic about being out there in the late fall and winter (as long as you're prepared for it).

Thanks for sharing this cold weather experience with us. It proves that a small teardrop camper Can be used even in the coldest conditions as long as you are well prepared! Having your pup along was the best !
  • @Johnnydammit
Camped out in my suburban in -10°! Ran the engine till I was done with dinner then crawled into my sleeping bag. The bag is good for -20°! It got so hot in that bag I had to strip down to just boxers! Best gift I ever got! Plenty of room with the 3rd row removed and rear seats folded down! Love camping in the cold!❤
  • Appreciate you doing this video. Thank you as I did enjoy learning some of the problems as well as joys of winter camping. I have 4 dogs do also enjoyed seeing you play with your fur baby. Safe camping!
  • @SWExplore
I really enjoyed watching you brave it out in the extreme cold at that campsite. Love the Boon Dock teardrop and its amenities: heat in the winter and AC in the summer. Look really comfortable. Juniper is the best friend a man can have and she was so playful, well-behave and loving. Thanks for putting out this video.
  • I love winter camping. North Dakota in February is wonderful if you have the right gear. A good tent, a good insulating mattress, and most importantly, an arctic quality sleeping bag. Glad you enjoyed your overnight, get out there with about 3 feet of snow. That's when it's fun!
  • @orion2250
I can imagine a group of y’all getting together and having fun winter camping like that!
  • @pgrant7688
I love this video! Because we live in South Texas, we don’t cold weather camp very often. It’s nice to know of heating elements that could help keep our trailer warm in those rare events.
  • We use our in the winter all the time, last year we slept in it in -16f outside and -36f windhcills, no heat source. Just used heavy zero degree bags and extra blankets,. Always fun to find the limits
  • @RobertPeru2749
I really liked your video. Winter camping is the best. No bugs, crowds or people. I just subscribed. Thanks
  • @gispel7058
Nice job , great content and editing . Takes one away from the crazy goings on that we have these days. Thanks!
  • @BrookZerihun
Well done, realistic outdoor, the cold is something many underestimate, generator fire wood and food, Well done
  • @firefly9838
My favorite time of year to camp is winter! Easy to stay warm when you get used to it and prep well.
  • I wish a company would build a true all season camper, when I say all season I live on the east coast of Canada, nothing I know that is built today can handle the winters we have
