Lyrics:
Verse 1
What that hair look like
Bet that hair look nice
Don’t that make you sweat?
Don’t that feel too tight?
Yo what yo hair look like
Bet yo hair look nice
How long your hair is
You need to get yo life
You only see Oriental
You steady working that dental
You poppin off at the lip
And run ya mouth like a treadmill
Not your exotic vacation
I’m bored with your fascination
I need that PayPal, PayPal, PayPal
If you want education
Hook
All around the world
Love women every shading
be so liberated
All around the world
Love women every shading
power run deep
So even if you hate it
I still wrap my hijab
Wrap my hijab
Wrap my hijab
Wrap, wrap my hijab
Keep swaggin my hijabis
Swag-Swaggin my hijabis
Swaggin my hijabis
Swag-swaggin my hijabis
Verse 2
Me and my hijabi ladies
We was born in the eighties
So pretty like the Euphrates
and party like some Kuwaitis
Deeper than some diplomas
Current like some hot yoga
Takin back the misnomers and
Teleportin through trauma
Teleportin through trauma
Teleportin through trauma
I been stackin my karma
Nefertiti, no drama
Make a feminist planet
Women haters get banished
Covered up or not don’t ever take us for granted
Hook
Bridge
You’re just jealous of my sisters
These Mipsters, These hippies
These Prissies, These Sufis
These Dreddies, These Sunnis
These Shii’s, Yemenis
Somalis, Libnanis, Pakistanis
These Soories, Sudanis
Iraqis, Punjabies
Afghanis, Yazeedis
Khaleejis, Indonesians
Egyptians, Canadians
Algerians, Nigerians
Americans, Libyans
Tunisians, Palestinians
Hidden beyond the Mekong in Laos
Senegalese and Burkina Faso

"Covered up or not don't take us for granted"... That is the most powerful line...
-
Let France listen to this song
-
I'm a Traditional Catholic so I wear a lace veil for Mass. The Bible says it's "because of the angels". It's s beautiful tradition that has been waning but the new generation is bringing it back. There is no oppression in following cultural traditions if its your choice. You do you! The song is great and the dance is very elegant.

“Covered up or not, don’t take us for granted” “every time a woman stand up for herself she stands up for all women” YES. COME TOGETHER
-
Is it just me or does every single part of the video look like an album cover.
-
Am I the only one here watching this after what’s happening in France? This song is much needed.
-
Who is still listening and grooving in 2024? 🥰
-
I am Mexican and not Muslim, but heyyyyyyy Muslimahs go get them girlllllllsss!!! TELL THEM HATERS, you rock your hijabs, girl!! Ramadan Mubarak!!
-
The way she shot this while she was pregnant shows that she can handle anything even in tough times and when she said covered or not don’t ever take us for granted” many men just think that women are there specifically for them and that we have no rights other than to serve our husbands and this song and the religion Islam has given women their rights Allhamdullilah and god bless

-
I am a Christian but I just love how power full this women is! 😍
-
Mona Haydar is quickly becoming one of my favorite singers. She's pushing me to adjust how I think about Muslim women. The bulk of what I know about Islam is from religion and political science classes in college. I also wrote my senior paper on gender and democracy in Jordan and the United States.

i come back to this song every so often and my favorite part is the variety of hijab fashion and wrap styles... so pretty and so powerful.
-
Me : A Christian Also me : I still wrap my hijab

“Covered up or not, don’t ever takes us for granted” THE POWER
-
I'm starting to embrace and love Islam a lot, and as someone getting started, this encourages me so much to learn even more about Islam and become a hijabi, dress modestly etc.. correctly one day soon In Sha Allah❤️🤞🏽 Im in love with this song and it was much needed, I wish everyone knew about it..

I’ve watched this several times. It’s a resource for my anti-racism class through the Unitarian Universalist Association. It was very thought provoking. I still don’t know why it’s important, but this song makes it seem like there is more to the hijab than I thought there was.
