Emma Kok has Gastroparesis, same as me. I can vouch for the amount of pain, discomfort and fatigue that comes with that, so to sing at all is marvellous, to sing with that passion and talent is unbelievable. She is doing an awful lot to raise awareness for this disease, which not many have heard of.

She made the whole world cry …… and the world needed it ❤️
  • Hello, I'm a Dutch woman and I saw Emma Kok with Andre rieux, she made everyone, EVERYONE cry...a great singer in a small human
  • @JohnHF1957
Forget the disease, Emma obviously isn't seeking sympathy. She simply dominated that huge space with extraordinary talent and charisma.

To start with: I think not a single person had the slightest idea how much respons this video would have. Emma is hooked on tubes 22 hours a day, every day, since she was a little baby. So actually she has not more than 2 hours a day total freedom as we take that for granted 24 hours a day.... I have so, so much respect for her (being 50 years older than her can't change that). What a brave little fighter!! Her voice seems to be made for this genre. Emma learned the lyrics phonetic and with help from a French woman: in the Netherlands we don't speak French.... She performed fearless in front of a 12,500 audience which is a thing, so to speak. No, in this video we don't see a healthy Angelina or Amira (to mention 2 awesome singers) but a small girl with some serious health issues who does this. To me that makes even more impressive. And than (last but not least) shout out to André Rieu. After these performances (there were 10 concerts) he has invited Emma to go with him and his orchestra on World Tour, early 2024, and to sing in his Christmas concerts, next December. I mean: he knows very well that Emma will need a little more care than healthy people do so to me those invitations are humanity at his best: he opens the door for Emma so she can make her dream, being a singer, a reality immidiately.

I was there, I can't describe how much more spectacular it was live. I had goosebumps like you and the whole square fell silent. It was an amazing experience. Thanks for proving that punks and rockers can appreciate more than one genre.

Bravo Emma! That was a world-class performance of epic proportions. It gave me goosebumps from start to finish. My oldest daughter had the same disease as her, (Gastroparesis). In 2014, any parents' worst nightmare came true, and my baby got tired of the fight and took her own life. My pain has been never-ending ever since. God, please keep Emma safe and as healthy as possible. She is an Angel. Great reaction. Take care.

When you are invited to perform at Andre Rieu concert its because you are a star.

there’s something about her body language that is so open. I read a loose translation of this song and I don’t know of anybody on earth who can sing “here I am, look at me,” etc. so boldly and confidently and yet still so humbly and gracefully in such a vulnerable song, in the way that she did. She didn’t have to fight for or win over the crowd. She just stood there and sang, and she had them all in the first second.

Her father, brother and sister were filmed in the audience. My son and his wife were so lucky to have been there.
  • Elle chante une langue qui n'est pas la sienne et elle le fait divinement bien... elle a été plus que parfaite... elle est juste ... incroyable !

To be totally honest I would never normally listen to music like this. This young lady absolutely blew me away. What a fantastic combination with the violins and her beautiful voice. Wow .
  • @CarinaPiersay
Absolutely stunning! She is exactly where she needs to be. A gift to the world 🌎

In the last couple of weeks I've listened to this stunning piece of music I think at least 50 times. And every time the tears start roliing down my cheeks. What a brilliant performace. Emma's voice, the arrangement of the music.... MAGNIFICO...!!!
  • @aldogonzalezjr
I have no idea what she sang about but I have never felt a song like I’ve felt this. One of the most emotional performances I’ve ever heard. Brought me to tears

I attended my first Andre Rieu concert yesterday in Malta. A really amazing show. Emma Kok really impressed me. She had me in tears from start to finish. I did not think that I would cry again watching the video but I surely did. Her face and voice are really Angelic. She really deserved the standing ovation. Wow! Wow! Wow!
  • @ginawhite3728
I skipped over her you tube video many times because I thought she was too young to really sing this song, and I have now listened to it 50 times and every single time I get goosebumps. This is the most beautiful rendition of this song I've ever heard and hopefully her illness does not stop her from singing and as she gets older her voice is going to be absolutely unmatched. Wow
