Well here is the announcement/update I mentioned in yesterday’s vlog…
I have decided to end my teaching career after this semester. I am not exactly sure where I am going from here but I do know that I have made the right choice.

I have watched your videos all school year and I love how real you’ve kept things. Good for you for getting out of that mess! I hope the next few school days go fast so you can get some rest and enjoy the holiday season 🎄😊

I’m so sorry you went through this but I’m happy to hear you are leaving! I’m so grateful for your transparency, you are helping so many people! I can’t believe what is happening in elementary schools and I wish more people were as open and honest as you! I can’t wait to see what you do next! 😊

Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry for your experience! Teaching is hard and glad you lasted as long as you did! ❤

I’ve been watching your journey for awhile and I’ve just got to say I am so sorry that teaching was not the career you hoped it would be ❤ sending you love and support on this new brighter chapter of your life! No one deserves to be belittled and borderline abused at their work. I am so disappointed on the behaviors the school system is reinforcing by taking away a teachers authority and support. I know quitting mid year wasn’t an easy decision but God has a plan for you greater than you could ever imagine! You’ve got this Brookelynne! Merry Christmas!

I’m so sorry things didn’t work out for you, but you gave it your all, and you should definitely be proud of that!
  • This is my 9th year teaching 1st grade. The past two years have been extremely overwhelming and overstimulating. Lack of subs leaves teachers with no breaks and behaviors are only getting worse. I have been contemplating leaving teaching as well and the behaviors I have are no where near what you have experienced. You are making the right choice. So sad to hear that you were not treated respectfully by admin. Best of luck in your endeavors moving forward!
  • I am a teacher retiring in May and I totally understand. Teaching today is so different, and much harder, than when I started many years ago. It has gotten worse each year. I will continue to watch you and wish you the very best of luck in your future. Would be interested in a future video on what you had to do in order to resign (teacher contract, etc.).

I’m so sorry. I feel for you. I know exactly how you feel. I applaud you for doing what’s best for you. Teaching is absolutely exhausting and most people just don’t understand. Your vlogs were so relatable because you shared the reality of the daily rough times. I’ll miss the content for sure but I’m happy you’ll be happy! If you sub again those vlogs were fun too!

Good for you sis. I taught K/1st and quit right before spring break. My principal try to get me to stay til the end of the year, but after having a massive panic attack, it wasn't worth it. I hope you find strength & support in your next endeavor. You got this.

I am so sorry for what really you are going through. Teaching is hard! I am wishing you best!

Good for you for not putting up with that. Better things are yet to come 💙

If these parents don't start teaching their kids respect and manners we will have zero teachers left. Good luck in your future! You have a great personality and are very friendly and warm. You will land on your feet in no time.

Glad your following your heart. It’s their lost and no school or anyone should make you feel guilty for doing what’s best for you.
  • Glad u decided to put yourself first ! I’m 24 and I teach second grade and u can really see the difference of how schools handle things and how students act compared to when we were In school , it’s sad ☹️
  • I’m so proud of you! You will find your path and have shown that you have self respect and boundaries. It’s stories like yours and thousands of other teachers that make me feel so much more sure on my decision to move away from teaching after 2011 and just this year pull my son out to homeschool. It was like every year that passed the kids in his school became worse, more disrespectful, the teachers more stressed and the kids lazier, dumber and more vapid every year.
  • I can relate to your experiences so much it's unbelievable. I teach preschool and I have one specific friend who does all of the above behaviors you just described and I was told nothing else can be done if the mother of this child does not move forward with the paper work referral process and I know how hard this can be...

Year 23 - I got my purse and walked out. I cannot tell you how much behavior has changed since I started in 1997. I’m so thankful I had a lot of happy years but at some point you have to keep your sanity. ❤
