Some of the best compilations of Glen Campbell's incredible guitar solos have to be seen to be believed...As a young child in the mid 70's I like most everyone was captivated by the song Rhinestone Cowboy and many other songs sung by Glen. But what I (and I'm sure many others) never knew was (until one time in the early 80's I turned on the TV and saw Glen Campbell playing guitar and totally shredding on it) how amazing a guitarist he truly really is. At that moment I knew that heard is someone that has utterly mastered his craft. I hope what you see here will convince you as well.

  • How Glen Campbell isn't on Rolling Stones list of top 100 guitarist of all time, is shocking.

Probably the best and most underrated guitarist of our time.
  • Glen Campbell one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived no question about it
  • Me being a black man who loves and plays guitar, I listen to country music every once in a while. I will say this, growing up in the 70’s I would watch Hee Haw and be amazed by this gentleman, Jerry Reed, and another guy who’s name escapes me, NOT. ROY CLARK! So many others on that show. I was teased by my friends for watching that show but I didn’t give a damn. I knew what I was watching GREATNESS. This wasn’t Earth Wind and Fire, naw man. This was another level of playing guitar all together. Country players, what can you say. Some of the best guitarist in the world.

When it comes to raw talent with no pedals or feedback Glen is the greatest. Period.

There are many great guitarists but Glen was one of “the” best!
  • Glen was one of the wrecking crew. They made hundreds of songs for TV, and musicians and movies 👍👍🥳🥳🥳
  • At the end of his life Glen couldn't recognize his own children but he could still play guitar.

Watching Glen grow old and pass away was extremely difficult to deal with, I miss Glen, he will never be surpassed, ever.

All I can say is Wow, why isn't Glen's incredible talent better known, or better when he was alive? What an incredible talent, one of the greatest musicians in American history.

Had the pleasure of working as a stagehand when he came through my town. I was into bands like Metallica and Slayer and all i knew about Glen Campbell at the time was Rhinestone Cowboy. Wouldn’t say I was a fan. We were setting up and his crew told us that he was really sick with the flu and would only show up long enough to play his set. Showtime comes and he shows up, absolutely burns the place down, and was out the door. It was incredible. Still one of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen.

I can't say I was ever a fan of his records, but Glen Campbell is, without a doubt, one of the very best guitar players ever. His solo virtuosity and his amazing work as a studio musician with the Wrecking Crew is sterling.

RIP Glen. Thanks for waving to my little 6 year old nephew riding by on your rhinestone palmino in OKC! Still talks about that incredible moment 48 years ago!

Beyond gifted, Campbell was an absolute master of the instrument. His speed and fretboard wizardry are impressive as heck, but his melodic sensibility is truly a marvel and something all guitarists should study

You simply cannot talk about the greatest guitarists of all time without talking about Glen. And so much of it was on a 12 string! He and Roy Clark were at another level.
