Hope you all enjoy the video! A few commenters have pointed out that The Grayzone actually debunked the NYT story before The Intercept. Great catch! Their link has been added to the description.

As a child, I used to ask myself in history class, "How did anyone let the Holocaust get so bad? Why did no one call it out earlier?" Now I know the answers to those questions.

It's important to remember that the people who said that Saddam had WMD's and that the war on terror was about democracy are the same people in charge of our media today

I once read that if you repeat a lie enough times it becomes the state of Israel.

As someone studying journalism. It really sucks to see how people in this field are bought out to spread a false narrative.
  • I am a Ghanaian. I have recently elevated interest in politics and I am really learning from this channel.

The fact that you refuse to call the resistence terrorists is really brave and eye opening for me, as a Palestinian even I was coerced to say they're terrorists just before I can have any conversation about the genocide. I will never do that again. I was a coward.
  • The Gaza genocide is one of the most disgusting things I've seen in my lifetime. The fact that the US continues to support Israel is baffling to me.

What i found personally frustrating is how, as a weekend news anchor for a small-midsize radio station in Canada, I got reprimanded for altering the AP News Copy regarding Israel and Palestine. I corrected the word “conflict” to genocide and some one called my manager, and quoted the exact time and sentence i said on Air to complain. So i can’t even alter the propaganda news copy i air to this small Canadian community because someone is literally waiting to timestamp the next time i call it a genocide

I just realized that in a system where journalism keeps governments in check, the US is truly f’ed. Thank you for staying true to your profession’s principles.
  • @bootsymad9101
The Brits and Germans are neck deep in this Genocide as well.
  • @BrigitteEmpire
In the wake of the Iraq war I remember seeing clearly how every news organisation and politician was just saying open racism and islamophobia without challenge, you could see the consent being manufactured before your eyes

I get so f**** pissed anymore when I hear about what has happened to the Palestinians, especially the children, just because of my dad. What makes me even angrier is the sense of utter helplessness that I feel is unable to provide any assistance whatsoever. It is a truly maddening sensation.

THANK YOU. I'm only halfway through the video but the whole "obfuscating what happened through news headlines" has been driving me insane for so long now. And I'm not from the US. I mainly get my news from our, supposedly, neutral public broadcaster - but they seem to be getting their news from the US or other pro-Israeli sources and I can't stand it. Here are some things I've noticed in their reporting (all of which could be found in a single headline and preamble, too, might I add): - H*mas is always mentioned as a terror organization, while Israel is just Israel - October 7th was an "attack", what Israel has been doing since is an "operation" - "30,000 have been killed" - not 30,000 civilians, and certainly not 30,000 civilian Palestinians - "Difficult to report from Gaza" - not "Israel has created a hostile and potentially lethal environment for journalists" - "Journalists have become targets" - ....yes, FOR ISRAEL The most egregious example of obfuscation I've seen so far was when Reporters Without Borders published a report with the title, "Israel Suffocating Journalism in Gaza". Two days later, our public broadcaster published their own segment on journalism in Gaza, featuring the chairman of Reporters Without Borders. Their headline? "Difficult Situation for Journalists in Gaza". And the only quote they used from the chairman was, "There is a sort of propaganda war from both sides, and that's why it's so important for reports by independent journalists to be allowed out". Who isn't allowing independent journalism? Because I'm fairly confident it isn't both sides~
