I remember when blocking with your sword on multiplayer servers was a universal peace sign

I remember playing with my siblings and whenever we heard cave sounds we'd lock ourselves up in that little house we built, thinking that it was Herobrine lol

Turned 17 today. This is throwing me back to around 2013, when i first played minecraft with my friend

I remember in Minecraft PE you could download your friend's world while in multiplayer and the copied default name was 'Temp' for some reason. Also another thing in Minecraft PE is the worlds weren't infinite and had an invisible boarder. However if you could build up to the max block height you can walk on top of the border infinitely.

Old village is now considered veteran. Time is going fast…

I remember when my brother made this huge wooden prison and was really proud of it, then he added the lava. It disappeared very fast.

Anyone remember when dead bushes were completely useless

I haven't played Minecraft in so many years and I remember all of this like it was yesterday. It's a bit overwhelming seeing how much it's changed!
  • who remembers when u could enchant anything so you would make the most op stick ever

I also remember when swimming was not a thing and instead you had to just slowly bounce your way until you found the next spot of land. I also remember when you could make a corner stair by it's self by making the corner stair with the two others on the side then simply removing them, I miss that feature.

I've played Minecraft since 2010...its amazing to see how far its come
  • i've been playing minecraft since 2012 and still a kid and on the ipad so i can barely remember the smaller details, but things like the two available flowers (and how the flower collection gradually expanded), the old boat, having to survive the night without a bed, are things so special to me, i'm glad i watched this video to remember them
  • it's crazy how much things have changed. like, the changes have felt so gradual over time, but when you really look back, the whole essence of the game is entirely different from what it used to be

I still remember when andesite, granite, and diorite got added. My friend and I were all ticked. We liked the simple caves and thought the new blocks were rather ugly. And those old boats, man when they changed that we did a happy dance.
  • The most important difference to me is that nowadays you know how everything works - or you can google it. When i first fired up a furnace and discovered you could melt sand into glass, which was just a "guess", i fell in love...everything was just somewhat logical

This gave me just as much PTSD as it did nostalgia… -The old death sound and being woken up from mobs hit different.

I did not actually realize the blacksmith structure got removed. I remember in the very old versions the lava at the “forging station” often lit the wood on fire. Nostalgia

I remember when you had to find a Jungle and find an ocelot to tame it and turn into a cat.

I have a Wii U and still have access to many missed features like blocking with your sword, finding blacksmiths, customizing flat worlds (might still be on java), notch’s temple, and OP sticks
