We used to travel that way to Yuma every year! Weād stay overnight at OrangeGrove RV Park, after leaving Sacramento, from there weād drive to Needles and stay at the Desert View RV PARK, THEN on to Parker, stay overnight there at Elks Lodge, next day arrive in the foothills, Yuma!

Hi Russ, my austin healey car i am restoring was registered in Mohave for many years. Great to follow your filming.
-
Glad to see Orange Grove hasn't changed much in 20 years.
-
That was quite a handsome rooster.

šāāHello Russ! That was neat seeing the aerial view of the lava lot & dessert. I liked how the trees were manicured by the office at the campground with the orange orchard. It was good t know they have laundry. Their pool area was nice too! Very inviting place! From the aerial view it looked like they could accommodate a large volume of campers. It was a beautiful day & a beautiful video!š

cool stops ššš» I was wondering if that was a nice trip from Quartzite Thank you !

The purple bushy flowers appear to be lantana. They also come in yellow and orange. I grew up in Phoenix and we had a big lantana bush in the backyard. Lantana grows in hot, dry climates like Phoenix. What a cool RV park. The house I grew up in was also built on an old citrus grove. It was mostly grapefruit, which I didn't care for, but my parents loved grapefruit. We had a few orange and lemon trees. In the summertime I used to make myself fresh lemonade, right off the tree. You're right. There's nothing like fresh off the tree.

Hello Desert Dreams!! THANKS for Sharing Russ!

šµOn the road again...š¶with Russ, yay! At 4:06--talk about wind, I spent a VERY windy night at that rest stop years ago--man, the wind was howling. The Orange Grove RV Park is right next to the California Fruit Depot, where they have some of the best oranges I've ever tasted. Happy trail

Very nice trip.šš beautiful rooster. Can't tell all the flowers but gorgeous hollyhocks at bird enclosure. Thank you. Be safe.
-
I can almost smell the orange blossoms, nice.
-
Canāt wait for super bloom. Picnic weather there. Safe travels!
-
Thanks for the memories Russ. I lived about 50 miles north of Bakersfield for 41 years. I did a lot of motorcycle racing in California City and a bunch of dirt track stock car racing stuff there in Bakerspatch and Porterville. I sure miss the desert and the Ag in the San Joaquin Valley. I now reside in Ky.

If you saw or heard of Erin Brockovich, the area she went to was Hinckley which is between Barstow and Kramer Junction on highway 58. Just a bit of trivia for you.
-
Nice going, not much traffic
-

On the road again, so glad you're on the road again.
