As counterintuitive as it seems, sometimes it turns out that colossally stupid decisions are actually the best possible course of action, as they can lead to outcomes that no one could have possibly predicted. Watch on for 7 stupid decisions we can’t believe worked out, and subscribe for a video like this every Thursday from Outside Xbox!

Now you guys need to do "10 Seemingly Good Ideas That Were In Fact, Big Mistakes."
  • @CamTheHero
Whoever figured out how to do the Thollier quest by taking shots of poison is either a very thorough detective or a psychopath. Probably the same guy who told us to keep talking to dolls who don’t respond.
  • @MillieMilky-x9m
To be fair, Andy's stupid decision to invest in JaneCoin worked out incredibly well for Jane
  • @justins9886
I love how the beeps didn’t cover the “f@cks”, at all.
  • Props to OX for showing off Igon, the greatest NPC in any From game
  • @goldie819
subtle confirmation that they do actually swear under the beeps
  • I had forgotten about the Speech points from Bard's Leap Summit. When I saw 'Skyrim' on the spoiler list, I thought it was going to be 'Agree to a drinking contest with a complete stranger'. Those rarely turn out well in real life.

So if you're stuck in a room with a descending ceiling, don't panic, just... Jill out.
  • @RayAP17
Good to see that Jane got past her issues with kryptoncurrency and the blockjanes
  • @Tumbledweeb
A note on the "Resident Evil" example; that early on in the game, you can't return to the other room either. So there is nothing you can do but wait for Barry. However, if you try to get the shotgun later on, Barry won't rescue you but you can replace the shotgun cause the room won't be locked at that point.
  • That Volo choice, despite being weird and stupid and hard to justify within role-play, is one I made for all three of my runs, because the result is just so damned useful. Like how I always adopted Scratch, it's something you just can't do without.
  • @Cuiasodo
At this point, I haven't the slightest clue how anyone figured out how to do anything in Elden Ring other than bizarrely random trial and error.
  • @armelior4610
The Metal Gear example reminds me of every beat-them-all from the 80's and 90's where you heal by picking up literal junk food from garbage bins or the pavement in the VERY filthy streets where they take place
  • @danhill99
The Elden ring Thiollier bit is an almost exact copy of Remnant 2, to be fair- you find a sketchy healing item in a sinister shrine, and you have to eat it several times (killing your each time) and only then can you investigate it to get a unique level healing item variant.
  • @trunter20
Excellent underuse of the bleeps on Andy's F-bombs 😂👌
  • @Redwaters
What about "Dance Off" in the Henry Stickmin series? When first introduced it was shown as a failure, and in another storyline he gets killed while starting to throw down. However it is the right thing to do when needing a distraction to get through a cafeteria full of bad guys. Another one from the same series is when "Charles's Plan" actually works.
  • @gheefreak
Wait, Volo? Like Volo's Guides? I mean, he's pretty well travelled and experienced. It doesn't sound like that absolute worst plan, does it?
