The moment you realize your grandmother is way cooler than you.
  • 100,000 people in that stadium knew what was coming all throughout the first part of that song.
  • Dont forget PA systems were crappy in these days, no monitoring ear systems or autotune.... Just pure talent

"If I leave here tomorrow, will you still remember me?" Four months later he was gone, and we still remember him. Question answered.

That's the way we did it back in the day. Shocking to realize your grandparents were way cooler than you will ever be! LOL! Rock on, Biz!

The Piano player started out as part of the road crew. One day during a break he sees a Piano and starts playing Free Bird on the Piano. They found out he had been classicaly trained on the Piano. They promote him from Road crew to a member of the Band.

If you ever hear someone shout out to a local band to request Freebird know that it's not just a request, it's a challenge.

THESE 'KIDS', WITH NO MUSICAL BACKGROUND, WORKED TOGETHER FOR YEARS TO LEARN, TEACH EACH OTHER AND PRODUCE THIS SOUND. PIANO(FORMER ROADIE) WAS ONLY ONE TRAINED ... THEY TAUGHT THEMSELVES! THAT MY FRIEND IS THEIR MAGIC
  • @bobshaw12
Simply put my friend .. THE GREATEST AMERICAN BAND IN HISTORY !!!!
  • That lead singer here, the immortal Ronnie Van Zant is the only one that can just stand still while singing and have your full attention

They were a southern group based in Florida, recorded in muscle shoals Alabama .They're concerts where worth every penny because they gave you everything they had . And people where good to each other.
  • Love this song....I was 17...OMG Ya baby I am a grandma...we were living! We were young!! FREEBIRD
  • @terryharvey8020
Another fun fact Ronnie always performed barefoot so he could feel the stage.

Saw them twice in concert back then, great band, and one hell of a song.

The iconic Southern Rock anthem. Skynyrd closed their shows with Free Bird and everybody in the house knew what was coming. So glad there is video for posterity.
