  • It sounds like you had a fantastic Jane Austen July! Gill Hornby writes so beautifully about Jane Austen's life and legacy. I found Miss Austen to be an even more subdued and quiet kind of book than Godmersham Park, but a spectacular book nonetheless. I've been meaning to read Unequal Affections for ages now. I used to feel similarly to you about Jane Austen retellings, but I've really come around to them over the years. And I feel like a terrible friend for not reading Katie's book yet. I wasn't able to get an advanced copy this year and then I got all wrapped up in Jane Austen July. Now of course I've convinced myself that I must finish what I've started for Jane Austen July before reading Katie's book. I'm sure I'll get to it soon enough, but your review is tempting me to abandon everything to pick it up. Thank you for making such wonderful content. I absolutely adore your channel! 💕📚

Looks like you had a really a successful Jane Austen July Elizabeth - especially getting your husband to watch two Austen movies! 😉That’s fantastic you loved Katie’s book so much, it’s on my list!
  • I re-read Northanger Abbey, and watched the same version of the movie, which is my favorite. I always enjoy this book, I need a fun a read right now. I read The Jane Austen Society, I enjoyed it very much but after reading finishing I need to absorb it a bit more before I come to what my rating would be. I read The Watsons for the first time. And that is all I had time for
