484. Checking Wildfires and many Lakes around Kamloops BC, Jul 16, 2024

Published 2024-07-28
We had serious lightening storm in BC which started numerous forest fires, including Kamloops region. We were lucky here up to that time. I decided to fly over those reported fires to see where we are now.
I was very impressed with the results. All fires were well under control thanks to quick aerial response to “kill” it while it is still small. I flew over many lakes and also highlighted drastic difference between two climate zones just side by side. That is interesting.

  • Jan, awesome as always, it was a horrific week for us up here in Alpine Valley with a fire, thunderstorm and several lightning starts, then massive wind storm. I have never been quite this afraid in the 10 years I've lived up here. Shared to our local group. 😃

Nice flight. I think the fishing saying is “a lake a day as long as you stay” for the Kamloops-Merritt area. Safe skys. 🤙

Enjoyed the video except it is very distracting when I want to view the terrain to have the video interrupted so often with shots of you in your airplane. Please consider reducing the number of times you jump from one camera to another and just focus on the actual terrain below. Thank you.

Mindnumbing monotonous music spoils pleasant visuals
