  • Can we appreciate how he got straight to what he showed on the thumbnail and didn't unnecessary stretch it out

"Do not repeat this at home" Yeaa, like my mom would allow me to break diamond!! Jesus
  • Diamond shatters, me "understandable" Nokia phone breaks, me "impossible"
  • A fun fact for everyone talking about how expensive this video must have been to make; Industrial, artificially made diamonds are pretty cheap, and actually harder and more pure than the ones you mine for. The way jewelers decipher real diamonds from fake ones is to actually look for impurities and imperfections. If it has a perfect crystalline structure with no impurities, it's artificial. I'm sure this video wasn't "cheap" to make, but it's not like he ran out to his local jewellery store and spent tens of thousands of dollars on rare gemstones for the sake of smashing them into powder

"Do not repeat at home" sure, i need that diamond
  • @knihsvmk
"Don't try this at home" Me holding my diamond, my tungsten block and my hidraulic press: "Ah man..." *Sad noises*
  • @Not-Kobe
Diamonds aren't hard to destroy, just hard to scratch
  • @Progamer1013
So, the thing with crystalline structures is that they have “clevage points”. Essentially, points of structural weakness due to how the molecules are aligned. Mainly, they are straight hits across the top or side. This is also why you can smash a diamond with a hammer fairly easily.

For him, the hidraulic is more precious than the diamond.
  • Seeing those stones get crushed hurt my heart, but at the same time it was very satisfying. 😌

"Do not repeat at home then what you saw in this video" I'll show you! [buys $275,000 hydraulic press]
  • And I thought MrBeast spent a lot of money on his videos, this dude is actually breaking actual diamonds for his videos.
  • wow so this is how they put all those dots on dice. makes sense , nice
