  • Janis was so beautiful. You can almost feel how vulnerable she truly was behind her image. Rest in peace, Pearl. We miss your presence and beautiful voice.

I was fortunate enough to be teaching in Port Arther when Janis was still attending school - the kids made fun of her because she dressed like a gypsy - but I knew that she had the passion to become Great - and so she did!!! Miss you Janis!!!

Rest in Peace Janis Joplin. I grew up listening to your songs on the radio.. You're still sorely missed , even after all these decades. Thanks for leaving us your music. You were truly one of a kind.
  • I just watch the Monterey Pop fest and the Woodstock. Brought tears to my eyes just thinking about it.She put both those shows in her pocket and left. Gone but not forgotten. Her music is timeless our grandkids grandkids will be listening to it

I'm introducing my 5 year-old granddaughter to the music of the 60's and the first song I played for her was Janis Joplin (I'm 71)

I'll always remember when my friend had just got back from running away for months to California. The greatest thing she brought back was the Pearl album. I was BLOWN AWAY listening to that song in her mom's house that afternoon. The next day, I stole my brothers bike and rode it about 17 miles to get this album. Got my arse beat for it. It was worth it lol

"I'll trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday"... What a beautiful lyric. When I think of my parents, and the fact that I miss them everyday, this line always gets me.
  • Such a BEAUTIFUL person! Her voice ... her soulful voice, is just amazing. She sang when there was no technology, that they use today, that can make anyone a singer. She was raw, unique and perfect ... yesterday, today and she will forever, live on in her music. God Bless her, may she rest in peace! Merry Christmas in heaven, Janis . . . <3
