  • Great idea with the magnets. You can also superglue a 12 inch piece of dental floss to the magnet, and then crimp a small lead split shot weight to the end of the floss. It ends up acting like a short plumb bob.

It's easy to get hung up on tool storage. You've got the solution pegged.

For years, I had a clamp rack sort of like yours. I found that if the clamps got accidentally put in with a slight overlap - easy to do with pipe clamps - I would get a shower of clamps. I have been told I have a hard head, but those clamps hurt! I also found it took up too much wall space, so I went to a holders with a pair o parallel arms to slide the clamps between. No more falling clamps and I put over 100 clamps in a 3 foot by 4 foot space. Yes, it is possible to have too many clamps, but I keep buying more when I get a good deal.

OMG James, power tools? just kidding ya, still following!! Great vid!!!

I ❤ the rare earth magnet stud finder idea. No need to draw lines all over a nice paint job.

I like the shot that shows your workshop connected to the living space. It means you're easily accessible for your kids, which is great.
  • The Louvre, the Met, the Vatican….. I’ve never been to any of them, but I did walk into the original Wood by Wright shop and I’m afraid those other places wouldn’t measure up.

A window! Light? Naaahh, I’ll stick some clamps there! 😂

I've seen enough from Adam Savage to know the best plans wind up changed completely after a few months' use. It's looking good, though! The peg for the saws makes me a bit anxious, but that's because I would walk into it, probably on a daily basis 😅
  • Coming together nicely, planning a re-vamp of my workshop shelves so providing much inspiration!

Good, Luke can still do his shots where he progressively gets farther away. Luke to the moon!
  • That Rockler pouch thing reminds of something I won in an auction, a Defiance by Stanley Tool Caddy. Only one I've ever seen or heard of. Holy cow that was a lot of holes also... have you ever considered a career making Swiss Cheese ???
  • Tool storage is never boring. Well, except when it's a bit boring. Still, nothing to get hung up about. 😉
