This game was absolute madness for me and my friends; It was so much damn fun. I truly miss tag battles, it was some of the most wild matches imaginable.

MK9 still the best MK game in my book, it just doesn't feel the same after it.

Something about MK9 makes it feel more "pure" than MKX and MK11. It's the last MK I was really into.

Damn, this game still looks great even today! You can't still tell it's not from our recent era of video games, but after all this time it still doesn't look half bad for its age.

That mk9 boss rage was hilarious.

Smoke was the character that slowly broaden my mind about special move canceling, launchers, and combo extending inputs. I really wish I had more time to learn how to play more than one character than just button and special spamming.

There’s something magical about seeing Max learning how a fighting game works; whether it’s a specific character like Jin in Tekken 7 or combo routes in MK9.

I'm the exact same way as Max. For me personally, watching a pro player play a character that I'm interested in learning is a very good way for me to understand the character and see what they do. I then try to replicate what they do and as my understanding and skill grows, I begin to try to add my own flare to the character.

This was just MK at it's purest form and that's why it's my favorite of the 3 recent ones.

I really hope MK12 goes in a similar direction as MK9. I still view this game as the peak of the series. Fast gameplay, cool combo strings and an amazing story mode. Also no variations🙏

This was a perfect Mortal Kombat game. Its amazing to me that all they did was inject more of the stuff that didn't work in V and VI in X and then slowed down MK11 and forced you to know all the combos to be able to string together any semblance of actual combat.

One of my favorite things about Smoke is his battle shouts. I have no idea what "Havodeza" means, but it has become one of the biggest MK memes in my head.

The advantage of ending smoke air combos with jump kick air through, is that at the end of air throw, you can throw ex-smoke bomb for unscaled 10% extra damage. So your 35% combo turns into 45%
