"A game that nobody asked for" seems to be the industry standard these days.

Gamers aren't stupid - we knew Suicide Squad was made first and foremost as a cashgrab as opposed to making the game FUN, which is why it ended up as a Live Service when it SHOULD have been a single player game. Warner Bros deserve all they get from this travesty.

Yeah it happens . When you release a game within a franchise , but : - In a genre that no one wanted for it - forced it to be an online game - Can't even have the game run properly for early access - Screwed up the actual launch - Featuring a divisive set of main characters , that you could not even get right - Have the already on thin ice main characters kill popular ones -It got patches that make the game even worse -It looks arguably worse visually , at least in parts , compared to a 10 years old game from the same universe - Have questionable characters redesigns and changes , despite claiming to be part of the Arkham-verse
  • Turning the Arkham franchise into a microtransaction-laden lootbox trap really shows how oblivious Wb's management is to videogames
  • @Kamanda010
These companies need to realize that we don’t want live service games
  • @Hope4NewDay1
Fans: We want another spiderman movie! Sony: "Here is madam web movie" Fans: "We want another batman game!" Warner B.: "Here is a Suicide Squad game" Fans: "We want new cheaper low-mid range GPUs!" Nvidia: "Here is a price cut on high-end GPUs" Workers: "We want a raise!" America: "Here is a pizza party..." I'm starting to see a trend now
  • @FOF275
It makes you wonder, do market research teams exist anymore? Like, how is it that some studios repeatedly just throw out crap that literally nobody wants? Everybody knew this game was dead long before it even came out, but WB is shocked somehow
  • @danlee7923
They literally killed the Justice League
  • @thewerdna
Man the Live Service trend chasing is just the MMO trend chasing from over a decade ago. Companies trying to all jump into a market that can't support more than a handful games of that type due to their typically large required time commitment.
  • WB saw the Avengers game and said "yes that is what we want". And they got it, a failure of a live service game.
  • @shadowbyname2802
And rightfully so. Lemme be perfectly frank here, SS:KTJL was not a labor of love. Nothing about it’s story derives any kind of love or appreciation for the Arkham Universe, or the greater DC Universe in general. It is about as much of a product as you can get out of a game, and it’s a bad product
  • @Raiyn121B
It’s so easy to avoid these games now. Even when they pretend it’s not a live service as long as possible. Once you’ve played one of these games spotting them becomes second nature.
  • @AeroZephron
I bet none of these CEO's that are pushing developers to make Live Service games, have ever picked up one and played them. These are the NFT's of the gaming industry and they are throwing their money away.
  • @SmashBrotherX
Instead of laying off developers and artists, maybe this companies should get rid of this executives suits that are so disconnected with their target audience that they always get surprised when a bad product is bad and does not sells well.
  • @sirknight2652
I just hope they understand WHY it failed. With current WB I assume they do not.
  • Between this and the controversy with Coyote vs ACME, along with the recent $110 million write down of several animated projects. Many are questioning how is David Zaslav still remain the CEO of Warner Bros Discovery despite nearly every action he does negatively impacting the company
  • @ArchangelG2000
These companies need to get the fuck out of the gaming industry. Games are supposed to be passion projects, not fucking quick get rich schemes.
  • @mightylink65
Developers really need to stand up to their leadership or this is never going to change. Every greedy CEO is going to run these companies into the ground until they've laid everyone off and cashed out with whatever funds they've had left.
  • @dem0nfr0g39
Live services failing is so common that I legit thought this was the same video talking about how bad Skull and Bones did
