Manisha Koirala, a scion of Nepal's powerful political family, rose to fame as one of the most successful actresses of the 90s Bollywood era. Her ethereal beauty captivated audiences, with fans even resorting to writing love letters in blood. Despite a string of superhit movies and iconic songs, her life took a tumultuous turn when she found herself entangled in a controversial relationship with Nana Patekar, leading her down a path of alcoholism and personal turmoil.

Born into the illustrious Koirala family in Nepal, Manisha's Bollywood journey began with her debut in the Nepali film industry, eventually transitioning to Bollywood with Subhash Ghai's "Saudagar." Despite initial successes, her career faced challenges, until a breakthrough performance in "1942: A Love Story" revitalized her stardom. However, personal conflicts, notably with Nana Patekar, and professional setbacks marked the beginning of her downfall.

As her career spiraled downwards, Manisha grappled with substance abuse, failed relationships, and professional disappointments. Her life seemed to hit rock bottom when she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2012, amidst a broken marriage and fading stardom. Yet, her resilience and determination saw her through, and after battling cancer, she made a triumphant comeback to Bollywood, showcasing her talent in diverse roles and reclaiming her status as a respected actress.

Manisha Koirala's journey is one of resilience, redemption, and self-discovery. Despite facing numerous setbacks, she emerged stronger, conquering personal demons and reclaiming her rightful place in the spotlight. Her story serves as a testament to the human spirit's capacity for transformation and the power of perseverance in overcoming life's adversities.

The sources of all information about the actress are extracted from the links below. They are acclaimed sources, frequently visited web pages and videos. All facts stated on any of the videos on this channel are always backed up with research. A lot of people in the comments state that the actress is not royalty, but from a prominent political family. This fact is picked up from the articles mentioned below and talking to people who were adults during her peak time in bollywood. I got to know a lot more information from people but only this fact(belonging to a royal family) was added in the video because evidence was found to back it up. Facts based on word of mouth are never mentioned in any video if there are no evidences behind them. I appreciate people in the comments, especially from Nepal, on clearly up facts. Manisha Koirala gave a masterpiece movie with all three Khans: Dil Se with SRK, Khamoshi with Salman, Akele Hum Akele Tum with Aamir.

As a Nepali girl myself, I would like to correct something very small yet significant. Manisha ji doesn't belong to Royal dynasty (Malla Dynasty or Shah Dynasty, to name a few) 12:05 , but from a Political Family of Congress in Nepal. Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Nepal. B.P. Koirala's brother, Girija Prasad Koirala also served multiple terms as Prime Minister of Nepal. B.P. Koirala was also a notable literary figure.

Manisha koirala was so pretty back then and even now she is so graceful.. we love her

Well studied and presented- but i think her craze in south india during middle and late 90s was missing. she did many blockbuster Tamil/Telugu films such as Bombay, Indian, Mudhalvan, etc and was among very few bollywood actresses that were able to make it big in south as well ....

I dont know why her life is considered controversial. She hasn't done anything wrong. It's people who cant accept her who have a problem.

A small correction... Before you blame Nana Patekar for turning her into an alcoholic, let me tell you- she was one, much before he came into her life. In 1993, when she came to shoot for RamShastra with Jackie Shroff to our college, her condition was so bad& she was so drunk, that she needed to be helped up by 2 people to walk to her car. The whole day she didn't step out of her make-up room. We friends were waiting for her practically the whole day. She was realllly pretty, delicate, slim& looked taller than she is. But was responsible for ruining things for herself due to her alcoholism. But very happy for her that she took the cancer monster by it's horns, got rid of it& turned her life around!!! ❤

I must say I like her presence more after Sanju she is more alive with her performances now. And in Heeramandi yes the web is dull but Manisha did a marvelous job her hardwork and charisma is visible and I was so much doubtful about her casting but she proved me completely wrong and I am happy about it.
