I love how the danger of ladders in RTCW (which is even more extreme than in Half-Life) is part of the in-game universe, and later in the game you find a letter discussing the ladders and the upgrade that they made to fix the high number of casualties among the personnel (which also helps the player)

yeah i save often too but because sometimes for some reason the game decides i get stuck on a slope and cant move and then "splat" instant gib, or my favorite like in Opposing force when using that elevator on a slope and behind some airvents were head crabs come out, turn ON the elevator and "splat" im dead.
