UV wrapping while modeling is the epitome of dream workflow.

Ive started to enjoy watching people make insane spaceships, far beyond my own ability.
  • @Abdul_Ali9
This guy created masterpiece which is beyond my imagination

Very informative! For reference, the spherical tanks most likely contain deuterium and tritium for fuel for the nuclear reactor/engines, and the larger sets of solar panels are actually heat radiators.

tip for 12:51 when you're trying to line up the UVs on top of each other, line them up roughly as you did then select the top vertices and scale, Y, 0 and they will line up. Repeat for the bottom and for the sides just do X instead of Y. Now they are all perfectly in line

Awesome spaceship! Also really great technique with the textures.
  • @ItzSimPvP
Ist sehr krass geworden, vorallem stark, dass du das einfach aus ner navy ship texture gemodelt hast
  • @3dvolution
Such a superbe tutorial, your spaceship is so full of details, it looks amazing!! And your workflow is very interesting, thanks for sharing ;)

Super impressive! Your work is a huge inspiration and a massive help. Thank you!
  • Just starting with blender. Been at it for a few days. This was really eye opening for me.
  • @Garecra
Sehr gute Arbeit. Ich dachte immer, dass man seamless textures nutzen sollte, aber es gibt nur wenige, die solche Details haben.

The X games use a similar approach to applying textures to stations ans ships. Its basically using several large sheets with random greeble-detail and uv mapping a section of it for each face.
  • @EdsonKu
This is what I called an impressive management of the uv mapping.

The models looks truly fantastic! I can't help but wonder how long it took to create, and how many years experience you've had, to know what fits where and how to acheive the look you want for your finished model?

This is great! I'd love to see your render settings to see how you give that final look!
