While it does not possess great power, the Ring of Barahir would play an important role to Aragorn, his ancestors, and Finrod Felagund - brother of Galadriel!

Faramir’s grandson part gave me chills .
  • It is a beautiful contrast to the One Ring, Barahir's ring was used unite peoples and families in common against evil, and The One Ring separating itself from all others and dominating all life to serve its master.
  • @HylianFox3
Forget the Rings of Power, I wanna see a TV series based around the Ring of Barahir.
  • @randyjh82
Not a magic ring, just an undying symbol of love between two peoples. ❤
  • @luudest
When you think of it: The Ring Of Barahir never got lost throughout three ages, survived two apocalypses, traveled twice over the sea, and got passed over many generations
  • @nikkik1109
Beren’s poem to Thingol is legendary another great vid NOTR

The Ring of Barahir is my favorite heirloom item in Tolkiens universe.

I love how lotr has all of these old relics and characters from the old first and second age stories. It is a perfect collection of all of Tolkien’s stories
  • @Tubaka01
The Ring of Barahir is such an interesting contrast with Sauron's ring. It was created long before the One Ring and survived the One Ring by an untold number of years. It was not imbued with anything like a tangible power to dominate the wills of living things, but one could say that as a symbol of love - even self-sacrificial love - it was a locus of a hidden, secret power far greater.
  • @neemotho2627
Knowing that Aragorn ended up with a ring that had passed through so many hands. Hands that had to deal with immense struggles, and some who didn’t, a ring that holds such history is a beautiful thought
  • I’d like to think that Sauron thought of this ring and the man that gave him so much trouble when he was forging his own.
  • @istari0
It's an enduring symbol of the friendship between Elves and Men, even in the days when the two races had little to do with each other anymore.
  • @gregnezz
I bought a replica in New Zealand in 2004. Still have it in its box...
  • I admire Finrod for upholding his oath, even though he knew the consequences, would be his doom That is a real man or elf for me "My word weighs more than any gems or gold"
  • @Tadicuslegion78
there must have been some magic in that ring that it was never lost and perfect fit each owner down the generations
  • @garmisra7841
Finrod Felagund is my favorite character in the first age (maybe second to Fingolfin). He doesn't have the pride or the hubris of the other elvenkings, and has this unfailing love and loyalty for the race of Men. His self-sacrifice and memory has so much pathos in it. That's why it's sad to see that he sacrificed himself for Beren, but also gratifying that Tolkien says that he "walks beside his father Finarfin in Eldamar." He was re-embodied by the Valar for his great love and loyalty, just like Glorfindel was for his unfailing courage, as he sacrificed himself to slay the Balrog pursuing the refugees from the Fall of Gondolin. I can just imagine the people of Beor's tribe awakening to the fair voice of Felagund, as he found their rude harp, and sang songs of Eldamar and Tirion of long ages gone. I wonder what awoke in their hearts, even if they didn't understand the words.
  • @SeyhawksNow
My fiance gave it to me for my birthday last year after I gave her the Evenstar pendant. We're wearing ours on our wedding this year, which we chose to be as close to Arwen and Aragorn's wedding as we could make it 😊
  • @Jayjay-qe6um
In the Special Extended Edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Saruman perceives Aragorn's true identity through the ring through its description by Grima Wormtongue.
  • When you realize that the One ring is a baby (in terms of age) compared to this one.
  • @biglawngnome
When the ring came back to Arwen and they way you put how after countless years and multiple ages of Arda it was again back in the line of its creator i was welling up! You're a master storyteller, sir🎉
