I'm in Turkey with Frank and in the last episodes we have visited an abandoned ghost town with Disney looking castles and some traditional Ottoman houses.
Now we're on our way to explore the giant cruise ship Carnival Inspiration.

As i'm currently working as an engineer in german shipbuilding on the next Carnival project, tears come to me. When you consider how many people worked on such a project and did everything to ensure that it was built in good quality and on schedule. But in order to make room for new things, the old has to go.

I used to be a commercial diver. I've been on and under that ship various times. I've cleaned her hull, polished her props, cut tires out of her thrusters, and swam the annual inspections. This video feels strangely personal. I've had some great times on that boat, and the other carnival hulks. Just depressing to think about how hard that industry has been hit.
-
I went on the Inspiration as a kid and it’s crazy seeing her like this. So much looks so familiar yet so different.
-
As someone who has worked on cruise ships for the last 10 years, I find the pictures extremely sad.
-
What would've made this video epic is if you had contrasted this with photos of when the ship was operational.
-
I think I saw this ship 25 years ago when it was being build as very little kid in Helsinki. Crazy how fast she retired.
-
wife and I went on this ship in the mid 2000's to celebrate our engagement. Makes me sad to see the state that it is in now and what its future holds. The ship really isn't that old.
-
Absolutely captivating. The mind-boggling amount of work that went into designing and building these floating resorts seems all but wasted, but they are all but used-up from an ancillary equipment service life standpoint.
-
I've worked on many Carnival Ships as a Art Director including all of the ships in this video. It makes me sick to see these beautiful ships that were in perfect condition scrapped.
-
Blown away by the video quality!
-
My dad was building this ship back in 1996. Time flies😢
-
I was a bus driver for the band 3 Doors Down, and this was the ship we were on for VH1’s Best Cruise Ever in 2010.
-
Cruise ship graveyard could be a great FPS map.
-
Wow, they let the designers go wild on this ship. I loved this!
-
its heartbreaking when you see how much work was poured into this
-
Would have been good to see the different cabins/suites
-
That was really special Bob. The music was perfect. I'd love to have that Shakespeare library in my house. Thanks!
-
My wife and I had our 25th anniversary on this ship in 2016. It’s saddening to see this ship in such a state. But time goes on. Thank you for the video.

Breathtaking footage. Fantastic work. It's so sad to see these beautiful ships and to think for the longest time these bars, pools, corridors would have been bustling with people.
