genuinely surprised that they figured out how to point the sniper up, that's a technique usually termed T3 or Tier 3ing basically in early forts days the mortar ruled everything, and some people tried to figure out ways to make a mortar even better than the current tier 1 (incendiary) and tier 2 (heavy) mortars, so they swung cannons to fire straight up as tier 3 mortars
