When the biggest complaint of you 2.5 hour movie is that it wasn’t 5 hours long, you know they nailed it
-
When Miles is invited to see Miguel, Spider punk immediately starts collecting the tech for his bootleg dimension watch. He predicted the outcome of the meeting and started preparing to help Miles and Gwen
-
Spider-Punk really surprised me. I went from “Oh he’s pretty cool.” to “He’s so fricking awesome, and I want even more screen time in the next movie.”
-
I didn’t notice until a second rewatch, but near the end Miles’ common red jacket is actually purple, which alongside the color of the world being different, is another indicator he’s in the wrong universe. What an amazing twist, and such a great cliffhanger ending to a movie.
-
One of my favourite aspects of this movie is that there’s definitely an undertone of miles + Gwen having a crush on eachother, but miles is mostly just genuinely devastated that his friends didn’t come and visit him.
-
Hobie is my stand out character for this film. He's brilliant but doesn't show it openly. He comes off as cold and a bit selfish until you actually see what the hell he's doing. He genuinely wants everyone to think for themselves and to succeed as the best spider people they can be. Why join the task force? To do some good. He only leaves once 2099 openly declares war on Miles.
-
I love that the movie with more spider men in it than any other movie, is about how alone Miles feels as Spider man.
-
This is what I WANTED Dr. Strange 2 to be. Not a montage of visiting different universes for a few seconds, but seeing how each universe is depicted and represented
-
I love how Hobie subverts the audience's expectations and doesn't fall in line with the love triangle cliche. It's so Spider-Punk of him.
-
If I had a nickel for every multiverse traveling movie in which the bad guys primary motivation involves a bagel I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice
-
I think the issue that got rid of the universe Miguel went to wasn't the lack of canon event, but the fact he tried to replace someone that died there. Miles only works in 1610 because hes not a Peter replacing a Peter, he's a Miles replacing a Peter In the universe where Miguel went, everyone disintegrated, nothing else. But in Paviti's universe, the 'destruction' looked more like The Spot's power than anything.

Hoobie Brown is probably the healthiest portrayal of Anarchy I've seen in Media so far and the one character I resignated with. I'm sure other anarchists will disagree with me but Anarchy hates Anarchy I absolutely adore his art style
-
This is a sequel done right. This is how you do use the multiverse correctly. Across the Spider-Verse is just perfect in my book. My only complain is that it ends.
-
The spidertask force against Miles is also kinda meta since people have also been calling Miles a mistake or unnecessary. This movie feels like the biggest middle finger to those people and showed them why he is spider man. Overall its just a really good movie with the bonus of having extra layers if you know how meta it is

I saw this on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles with a bunch of kids and their parents in the theater, the movie is as the great two cello man said ,everything we could hope for. But for me the greatest thing was this dad and his young son's conversation I caught as they walked by after the movie, he goes " see miho you can be anything, even spider man" and the kid was smiling the biggest smile and it just made me think of this beautiful connection between art and love.
-
Miles vs all those other spidermen I think is actually Miles vs nihilism. All these spiders actively allowing these ‘canon’ events giving into notions of fate and predestination makes miles journey to try something new so powerful
-
I love how this movie handles the evolution of Miles and Gwen's relationship. From the moment they meet up again, they click so well. If anything, it's the emotions that make me care about it. The film makes it clear they both like one another, but I appreciate that it shows how insecure Miles feels- but how scared Gwen is to be with Miles or, better yet (take that leap of faith). Despite that, I love how Gwen wants to believe it'll work out. Like Miles said, "Well, there's a first time for everything, right?" A sense of comfort. As she said, "It's all possible." Miles always gave her that. I can't wait to see what's next!
-
I love how Spider-man India said "I can do both" right as captain Stacy was about to die just as Miles said "I can do both" learning that his father had to die
-
Man I love this movie so much. The way it looks and the story they’re telling is incredible. Using a meta reasoning as to why people don’t like miles and personifying that into Miguel is genius. Then flipping it to be the thing he has to overcome is incredible and proved why miles deserves to be spider-man more than anyone else

A little note to how Miguel was wrong about the canon events in the movie. The canon event that Miles stopped in Pavs universe was “a police captain being crushed by falling debris during a battle with an arch nemesis.” Well Spot isn’t Spiderman India’s nemesis, he’s Miles’. I feel like this is just a little note about how Miguel was mistaken for how the canon events play out and how they effect the multiverse. Also if I know the writers I feel like the way they’ll tie all of this back together is Spiderman India is gonna swing through and save Jeff Morales during the final battle in Miles’ universe.
