🏨 Season 03 - Episode 02: In this episode, after the tragic loss of their 10-year-old son, Dave and Dede Eby found themselves lacking the passion to continue operating their business, Angler's Lodge, which Dave had personally built. Gordon was dissatisfied with the food quality, outdated rooms, and the ineffective leadership of the owner's son and manager, Zach. Despite making some menu changes, Gordon still had doubts about head chef Gina's abilities, even after simplifying the menu. The transformation involved renovating the rooms, introducing a new menu, and seeking guidance from hotel expert Emily Brown.

lmfaooo "dont cuss in front of my angel of a mother" 10 seconds later: "you don't know shit" 😂😂😂
  • Update: As of May 2024 the Angler's Lodge is still open. Recent reviews are overwhelmingly positive with multiple complements about the food. A few mention high prices but still say it was worth the cost. The only repeated negatives in the recent reviews are about issues connected to 3rd party bookings and other online booking issues, not the lodge itself. Currently has 4.3 stars on google.
  • I can understand when a chef is limited by what the owners will buy, but cooking rice to mush is not an ordering problem.
  • @jakopath7
As of late 2023 the place is still open and taking reservations. They have decent reviews, too. Awesome!

I actually really feel for this family. Most of the time I am just annoyed that these privileged people get opportunities that they fuck up. But these guys went through a really tragic loss that kind of broke them. Super sad.
  • Is it just me, cause I feel like Ramsey's been super soft spoken in this episode, as well as more patient. I like that a lot
  • @fucksquatch
"That has got to be the worst" has got to be the most widely used phrase in Gordon's vocabulary
  • @tiacritelli
“It hard for me to talk while I’m working”….ur a chef, that’s kind of a prerequisite

Lmao telling Ramsay not to swear ...what's not you gonna ask him not to breathe!?
  • @VelvetAnnn
The lack of emotion in this family is actually devastating. You can 100% tell that they've been through something horrific. Im only half way through, and i just really am praying so hard that this family is smiling at the end of this show. God bless this family, please 🙏

Beautiful place and I've never rooted for owners harder. Good people that had a crushing loss. I hope they turn their lives around.
  • The reason he doesn't speak like and "English Gentleman" is because he isn't. Scottish born.
  • @cjlmd27
I think this is the first time I've seen Gordon actually fire someone. Usually he makes the owners do it.

Beautiful place! The owners are just as beautiful and humble. They needed to reconnect with their past and see the joy they were lacking, then brought it forward to today. Losing a child is something you never get over, I know first hand how they both feel. I hope they keep moving forward and embrace it. 🫶🏻🕊️🙏🏼
  • I luv the fact that Gordon comes in and tries to fix the restaurant and mends their relacionships

Nice to finally see an episode that isn’t ridiculous. Good family, great intentions, beautiful space. Minimal work needed. Mostly training. Happy they got what they needed! Unlike the hell in other episodes lol
  • Getting mad at a Brit for swearing too much? Buddy, you must be new to the world. Happy birthday!
  • @TheEbruce01
Im still curious if his mom said something to him about gordons cursing. If gordon took the time to save my hotel I wouldnt complain about anything.
  • @7JANEWAY
I think it’s crystal clear that the chef has to go. The fact that the other two can work around her is proof that she’s not needed. If these people are serious about keeping their lodge at the top of its game, the first thing they need to do is to get rid of her.
  • @swannoir
One of my favorite episodes of this series! Heart-warming. And that lodge, WOWZA. All best to this family.
