In this “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) episode, Peter delves into the often misunderstood concept of inflammation. He first defines inflammation and differentiates between acute inflammation and chronic inflammation, the latter of which is linked to aging and a plethora of age-related diseases. Peter breaks down the intricate relationship between chronic inflammation, obesity, and metabolic health, and highlights the signs that might suggest someone may be suffering from chronic inflammation. From there, the conversation centers on actionable advice and practical steps one can take to manage and minimize chronic inflammation. He explores how diet plays a crucial role, including the potential benefits of elimination diets, and he examines the impact of lifestyle factors such as exercise, sleep, and stress management. Additionally, he discusses the relevance of food inflammatory tests and concludes by examining the potential benefits and drawbacks of drugs and supplements in managing inflammation.

Inflammation is why Uncle Rico can no longer throw a pigskin over dem mountains

I'm an RN and one major reason I would never work in an operating room is that the surgeon's determine which 'music' will be listened to while the rest of the staff have no voice. Sometimes the 'music' is too loud, too Metal, too loud Rock, etc. Also, I don't think it is responsible to take one's eyes off the patient to look at clips of your favorite show. The focus should be on the patient and not the surgeon. I wouldn't advertise what really goes on in operating rooms.

I am surprised how this video ended without fulfilling what was promised in the title of the video.

I bet I could throw this here football over that mountain. Crazy uncles are the THE BEST

I have chronic inflammation from an auto-immune condition and I absolutely cannot live without the Protein inhibitor-like drugs mentioned in the video. If you find the right one that blocks a certain channel (in my case interleukin-17), it can remove inflammation almost entirely.

SO much talk. "The Anti-Inflammation Zone" by Barry Sears (2005, Harper-Collins) is still the best and thorough discussion of inflammation and diet out there. Also, it contains no irrelevant reference to the moronic, pop culture motion picture mentioned here, though fans will be excited/beside themselves to know it was written the same year the movie was released.

It's like 2 scientists talking in an airplane and I'm just stuck in the middle. You guys could have simplified the discussion just a little bit for us mortals to understand.
  • @miaash3870
You need to explain to the viewers/audience what Napoleon Dynamite is.
  • @Siticmon
as a 30yo guy from europe i have zero clue what napolean dynamite is but i enjoyed that segment greatly, thank you
  • @starstern1077
Oh wow. He has a sense of humor! Love to know this.
  • Dude, you're clearly enjoying yourself here. I know I feel cool when I prattle on about my knowledge of construction and engineering. But when I'm trying to deliver a clear point to a client or employee, I try to simplify the verbiage and get to the GD point. You should try it.

The Napoleon intro was too funny… one my best friends from pharmacy school was from Preston, ID where the movie was filmed. Many of our late night study sessions ended with some quotes from the movie. He knew many of the local characters who showed up in the film. He was probably the smartest student in our class but just funny and unassuming. Peter thanks for the info on the podcasts. I get more from them than most CE classes. I’ll have to pay you with change.

  • Ok so the first 3:30 of this video has revealed to me that I have been living under a rock…
