GoPed ESR750 Hoverboard Video Review - Powerful, Full Suspension Electric Kick Scooter

Published 2016-06-15
electricridereview.com/goped/esr750-hoverboard/ The GoPed ESR750 Hoverboard is one of the largest, most powerful and comfortable electric kick scooters I've tested... Offers front and rear suspension with about three inches of travel, large pneumatic tires that span cracks and absorb bumps. Extra wide wooden deck provides ample space for people with big feet, optional locking cuff secures the stem to reduce rattling, front and rear fenders protect against water and mud splashing up. Single heavy duty mechanical disc brake on the front wheel provides good stopping power (optional rear disc brake), actuates consistently and smoothly, upgradeable battery for extended range, power and reduced weight, GoPed is hand made in the USA. Basic three-LED display doesn't show your speed, precise battery charge capacity or odometer, chain driven motor produces more noise than gearless hubs and does not freewheel so coasting isn't super efficient, heavier build starting at ~65 lbs and going up. This electric kick scooter would work well for an event like Burning Man where you go off-road.

This is the father of all escooters!
  • I wanted an ESR750 Hoverboard back in 2007! I was in my late 30s. Things happened and I never got it and forgot about scooters. Fast forward to 2022 and I wondered what ever happened to Goped? I visited the site and it made me kind of sad... but I did discover Dualtron and now have a kick ass Achilleus! I bet the Goped was built better than most scooters even today... too bad they didn't change with the times. I remember watching HOURS of videos about their scooters. 16 years sure passed fast.

Thanks Court I've been waiting for this review. I had fun with this one and you did a great job. Watching this made me smile and at the end your editing had me laughing out loud.
  • thanks Court for the review of this specific model. Your reviews are really honest and thorough. Appreciate it!

11:00 Since it doesn't have regen, they could have look for a way to get rid of that chain tensioner and add a freewheel to the motors shaft. It would be much better for coasting and if you run out of battery you could kick it along.
  • Keep the awesome videos coming!! Superb job! Any ETA for review the Bolt M1?

Your reviews are awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these. They are very thorough and detailed. Love them! I'm ready to buy a Hoverboard with the Lipo option and I have emailed SAM a few times. He seems like a cool guy in your videos but to be honest he is a not so nice via email. He is short with his answers comes off rude. Almost like he's doing ME a favor. The guy definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe he is burned out. Been in the game too long? I will not be spending my money with Electric bicycle center sadly. Just wanted tell my story. Take care all!
  • PLEASE! M5 T3 S1?I need the best scooter with the most power for hill climbing. should i buy one of these m5 t3 or s1 scooters or should i wait for the eon or should i wait til the luna ludacris is available? or perhaps the luna super scooter. i really need to fold and carry into bus or train so go ped is a bit big. How about the weped? can i even get one here? your reviews are great but the compare chart is incomplete and has given me more questions than answers. So i figured i would ask directly to you and/ or your viewers. thanks to any and all responses!

I love my Go-Ped ESR Hoverboard!! I ride it all over NYC. People who whine about the price should just go buy a cheap Chinese scooter--it won't last nearly as long. Go-Ped's are just better made. You get what you pay for.
  • @TheWelshman50
nice ride you left the kickstand down when you was on it

Maybe it's my opinion, but it looks outdated. You can't compare this to a dualtron. I've owned a chain driven scooter before and I've always had issues with a link breaking. The electric scooter game is evolving and if they don't ride this wave and reinvent they can be left behind. Dualtron to me seems to be the superior of electronic scooters. Can you maybe do a review on one? Like maybe the "Dualtron Thunder" there is a company called minimotors in compton, LA that sells it.
  • i will like to buy one with the lion batterys how much will be that.
  • @SkywalkerPaul
Hey there! You make great reviews! Can you please make a review of the 6,9kg Carbon scooter?
  • @Cr125stin
Does goped have brushless hub motors in its future?
  • @user-mw4bd6zu6r
how much was that, ,? frankly i need that, but can i take on bus, because i walk a long miles to work and vise versa, i need that kind to carry me to my work place

ERR definitely knows this but to any viewers who don't: the lithium ion setup for this scooter would be a lot quieter. The personal transport market can be very intimidating to folks checking it out for the first time or looking to make their first purchase after weeks/months/years even of research. There is an air of uncertainty in almost every corner you look! Nowadays - and I'm talking literally the past year TOPS - we have electric assist bicycles available as a true means of personal transport and to be honest it's a more structured, transparent market for the most part; with manufacturers hosting or participating in press launches loaning them out to journalists like ERR or now known as Electric Bike Review it's definitely a lot more approachable. Anyway, as I was saying the alternative market being everything else you don't need a license for. I can vouch for Gopeds. They don't break, no matter how hard you beat on them on a day to day basis, they are just built very well. That is the first place I'd look if I didn't know where to begin.
